Middlesbrough does it again...

Well my local football team (Soccer for you yanks) is through to UEFA Cup final after pulling off another stunning come back. Against Basel they were 3 - 0 down on aggregate and came back to win 4-3, and against Bucharest tonight we were again 3 - 0 down on aggregate (2 - 0 in the match) and again came back to win it 4-3. This is probably only interesting for the people who follow English football, but as you can imagine everyone is pretty dazed and merry right about now. With Arsenal also into the Final of the Champions league looks like it could be a good year for English football in Europe!

They played for it. Bucharest got two early counter-attack goals up, but Middlesbrough have certainly shown they are worthy of the UEFA cup.

I wish them all the freakin' best.

I was pissed that nobody told me it was on tonight.

I looked on bbc.co.uk and saw that they won 4-2 with a last minute goal. Totally insane :farmer:

My flatmate hope that Rangers finish second, Hearts win the Scottish cup and Aberdeen finish fourth. So that Aberdeen gets into Europe.

Anyway, what a frigging game. I can't believe we came back to win 4 - 3, again. And Maccarone scored the winner, again. He's getting a fanclub. I was so happy last night, I keep on bursting out laughing.

The guy describing the game doesn't know the rules though. He seems to think that we'd have gone to extra time when it was 3 - 3 on Agg. But we wouldn't have, Steaua would've gone through on away goals.
