Why do people have to do lame stuff..now servers will have to disable sprays..
 
nice, i like that. almost as good as my porn sprays for distracting ;)
 
Porn ones work better, especially if you post em at the bombsites as a T, they can't disarm the bomb if they are wanking, most of the people who play CS haven't even seen a rack yet HEYOOOOO!!O!!O!O!!

there have been sprays like this for hl1 for AGES. do you see those servers banning sprays?? NO

I took a screen of a pr0n spray once cause the chick was hot.

So now you can spray crouching CT's to distract T's. Just camp behind a box, spray a CT on the wall, wait for T to start shooting "him" and jump out, phoaww, HS... Cheating that is...

so if you shoot at a barrel somewhere, with the silencer on, and the enemy think you are at the barrel, he goes there, and you shoot him, thats cheating? erm

no that's strategy ..that's just using your head ...spray painting a decoy is an unfair advantage unless it was a mod and everyone could use it (i personally wouldnt )
 
I don’t see how you can consider this cheating; it’s a proven war tactic. During the world wars generals would inflate battalions of tanks to trick the axis on actual tank movement.

Consider it a tactic, decoy or booby-trap.

i think thats exactly the same thing, you trick your enemy and you take advantages of it..

some guys would probably go and check that barrel out, and see if there was an enemy behind it or something, same thing with that spray, some guys would think its a real CT, others would see that it was fake..

no ...your first reaction is to shoot it, revealing your position. even if you know about it you'll still slip up sooner or later. To each his own, but I wont be playing on any server that has this ..I prefer to meet my opponents on equal terms ....now I know why I never got into CS in the first place
 
Its tricking them, cheating is altering the game so in your favor.

Well you can simply disable custom decals. I don't see anything wrong with this, I think it's good for a laugh or two; it's not like it's really useful.

I remember this one time, some guy sprayed a fake ladder on dust and I saw three CTs trying to climb it. I laughed my ass off when they asked why the ladder wasn't working :LOL:

i guess many ppl whos see a barrel moving whould shoot on that too, in hope that a enemy sit behind it.

and see it like mikepl says, see it as a war-tactic, and not cheating.. cheating is when you use exploits and bugs and see thru walls etc to kill your enemy easier..

if your enemy is smart he would probably not fall for the "barrel-trick" or the spray

what im thinking too, wasnt going to use it to get kills easier, i made the spray because its fun to see guys sitting like 15 sec and shooting at the spray and waiting for the guy to die :p

gotta try that with the ladder :D ive tried with door in cs a couple of years ago, not many who tried to walk thru it, but some did :p think you could make nicer doors etc now when you can make REALLY high quality sprays :)

Read through this thread, and tbh I don't think making spray's like this should be considered cheating.

wallhacks, skywalking etc. THATS cheating

Making a spray that lets face it, anyone can use. To try and trick the enemy to give you enough time to get a shot in. As others have said, its tactics and its very common. Good players will become very familiar with them and know in a split second whats real and whats a fake.

As for the shooting a barrel with a silencer to trick the enemy, i don't see that as cheating either, someone did that to me while we were playing the beta, and fooled me into eventually getting my head blown off. i didn't scream cheater, I laughed and thought you jammy bastard, nice move, i should have expected it.

So yeah, things like this are fine and part of the game, its when you start doing things you really shouldn't be doing, to gain very unfair advantage over the other team, thats when its cheating. Course, in the case of that bug in CS:S at the moment, where people can get up above everyone else and shoot through the sky. If Valve simply put actual building sections in and let people get up above like that, it no longer becomes cheating, its part of the game with snipers to watch out for on top of roofs.
 
well I prefer to play games the way they were meant to be played ...I dont need decoys to get kills ...it wouldnt be much fun imho


edt: shooting a barrel is a good thinking man's stragety ..spraying a logo to fool someone is somehow cheap ...again, imho

i didnt even think about using it to get kills until Mikademius and you brought it up, but more like Para, using it because its fun seeing ppl who really thinks its real, and can sit there and shoot at it for quite a while, until they understands its not a real guy sitting there :LOL:

by then you've shot him a dozen times ...you tricked him using something he wasnt aware of ...it's a cheat (indirectly), because he wasnt aware of it because it's not a feature of the game ...shooting the barrel is a feature of the game (physics)

YOU were the one who brought that up, using it as a thing to easier get killes
 
It's lame. It's stupid liitle 'tactics' like this that pissd me off so much about CS. A agree with Stern, I prefer to meet the enemy on equal terms, so the best man/woman wins by skill/having a bigger gun, not by being duped.

true, but most ppl using sprays like this only use them to have a little fun, to see "stupid" enemies trying to kill it, round after round :)

btw, i have another wicket spray coming up, stay tuned ;)
