Another post about a demo.

But this one is equally exciting. :E

I am interested in this demo because the game seems at least a little intriguing given some of the press that has come out about it recently. Will try the demo at least....

I'll give it a shot for sure, very interested in this game but still not full on excited about it

YEAH! I'm going to download the mirrors edge demo for both console to see which controls i like better

and Nuts and Bolts, i'm sold... i love it

Boo, I'm outa town when this ships. I'm seriously so excited for the demo though :D

If it's good, I'll pre-order right away. Get the rather nice t-shirt then! :D

I cant wait for this, one of my top games of the year here. At least i hope so. Huge fan of Parkour.

when do PS3 demos usually get released on the PSN store?

I know the XBL marketplace usually drops their demos and arcade games around 2 am PST. Was wondering if PSN store does a similar thing.

Looks great, but not a fan of the tough talking and acting fem trainer. Does anyone know about the story in this game? Cool action is great and all, but what is the point of such innovative gameplay if there is no good reason for it? If this were a Run Lola Run game I could understand it a bit better...:p

Basically you live in a 'dictatorial utopia', there is almost no crime etc but everything is monitored, to get messages delivered without surveillance picking it up and such they use people called runners who deliver it by hand, running from security etc, I'm tired and cba to explain it better.

LOL at the demo video, notice what OPM said about Mirror's Edge "The future of the PS3 starts here!", yeah because a game that's coming to the XB360, the PC too is definitely gonna start the future of the PS3!

Now what the hell is the reason for the demo not being released for the PC? :frown:

Yeah, that made no sense to me either. LBP maybe, but not Mirror's Edge. :p

Thanks for the story summary. Sounds interesting, if not super-compelling or original. :hmph:

Yeah I didn't mean to bash the PS3 or anything, I'd found it hilarious if it was OXM saying "Mirror's Edge is the future of the 360", just as you yourself say, the PS3 have exclusives that are noteworthy in their own right in my opinion, such as(I never thought I'd say this) Killzone 2.

I am not entirely sure why, but this game feels like it's going to be so damn refreshing. Like the future just arrived and handed us a game.

The main reason I'm looking forward to it is the fact that last time we got a first-person shooter that tried something a little different, we got Portal.

Just played the demo, and it's just as much fun as it looks. :) It felt a bit more linear than I expected, but no big deal. Controls are dead simple, but perfect.

Is there any reason to get this on PC over consoles? If not, I might grab this for my PS3 (the six-axis stuff controls your balance on tight ledges).

I imagine that, being an EA game, it's gotta be for the consoles. I doubt there'll be any optimisation for the PC.

There's also PS3 exclusive content down the line so that's where I'll be playing it.

I have 7 god-damn games on pre-order now. Bloody christmas.

[edit] cancelled a few since my 360's bricked >.<

Where did you get the demo? PSN or through a pre-order? I don't see it on PSN yet.

same here the day is almost over and they still havent't posted the demo up wtf. Sadly to say i waited all day just for it too.

EDIT: It's HERE!

Well, PC release is no longer the same as consoles, it's being delayed to sometime "later in winter", possibly early next year. Thanks EA.

Just finished downloading, installing and played alittle bit 5 minutes ago. Not finished with the demo but takin a dinner break. This game is fun, nothing too overtop but it's not a letdown either, controls aren't complex... very simple, and easy to learn. The game is all about executions*, like timing wise... the previous interviews from the devs are no lie... it's really all about keeping momentum to get the smoothest, most satisfying play out of the game.

*One part you have to wall jump by pressing L1, then do a quick turn by pressing R1, and then L1 again to grab hold of the opposite ledge.

i'd also imagine this game would be better played with a gamepad, despite it bein First Person... it's not exactly shooter orientated... I also foresee this game could change how FPS games in general are made as far as player movements go(hope to see a battlefield with this type of player movement style incorporated), other than this, another game I can think of off the top of my head that has a similar style would be FarCry 2... where you can slide into cover from running.

this is a definite buy in my book... just need to try out the 360 demo to see which one im gettin it for.

This game looks very pretty. I don't really understand all the praise behind it though, guess I gotta play it first.

Just played through it and really enjoyed it. Controls feel nice, just need a bit of getting used to. Might just get this for PS3/360 rather than the PC. Hmm. Not sure.

I just played through the 360 demo.

It's REALLY fun. It all controls very nicely, very smooth. I had a bit of doubt about this game previously, but the demo has quelled all of that. I especially like how it doesn't slow you down while sliding under things, or jumping. It's all very fluid.

Yeah, normally single player only games turn me off for consoles ($70), but I loved playing this. When you get used to it and are able to string everything together its amazingly rewarding. Plus the disarm minigame is cool, and never annoying (or mandatory). The game looks gorgeous too, really love the art style, and the music is a perfect fit.

"Silver" users such as myself still don't even have access to the Nuts & Bolts demo, so I'm sure we'll get shafted on this for a few weeks as well.
