Missing console and scoreboard

After the last update several people online have been complaining about the missing console and scoreboard.

The scoreboardthing can be fixed by reassigning it to another key.

For those of you with nordic keyboards, with æøå, ø is the new key for the console.

Don't know about other keyboards. But I would think you could find the console by exploring your own keyboard! I believe these errors have something to do with this portion of the update:

Added support for binding non QWERTY (i.e. AZERTY) keyboard keys.

Yeah - since the last update sometimes my scoreboard is shown ALL THE TIME.

And I can't open the console. I already reported both

I did some testing, and found out that if I set my keyboard to American language in the controlpanel, under language and region, the console-key went back to what it always have been. But when I set it to Norwegian the console-key was "ø".

So maybe resetting your keyboardlanguage in the controlpanel might help?

It's wierd. For me the tilde still works as the console key, but so does apostrophe and the hash key?!? (UK regional settings). Also TAB doesn't bring up the scoreboard anymore although +showscores is bound to TAB and the TAB key works in the console. WTF?!

just bind the scoreboard and the console to some different keys.

Just edit ur config.cfg like this:
bind "x" "toggleconsole"
bind "SPACE" "+showscores"

In this case x is console and spacebar is scoreboard.

damn patch.. it's great, decals on people, better fps, but they fecked up the thing that matters... the scoreboard :x

Initially I lost access to the console as well, but going into 'advanced' under the keyboard tab and checking both boxes, my console was enabled, except not only for the tilde, but also apostrophe and hash key.

What I noticed with the score display was if I set the scores display to any other key, it would work. The minute I tried editing it back to the tab key, it would default immediately to the last key I had it set to (which was caps lock)
Hopefully in next update this will be resolved.

correct about the console. tab is no longer recognised as a bind for some reason, which is why it defaulted back i guess.

anyway, just assign capslock or shift to the scoreboard instead of tab...ffs these patches cause more simple problems than they fix complex ones lol!

I've also have these problems...
I especially dislike the unable to use the TAB key problem...
And the console that's not useable in the normal way should also be fixed...

I hope it'll be in the next update.

Next update? you mean The release?
It's friggin' annoying not to be able to TAB anymore, I assign it to q, but that's still wrong, And to have console way across the keyboard. I mean, come on. Who the hell requested the azerty support anyways. We've managed to play without for many years....

yeah i have the same problem. it just stays there lol. having to use shift as the score key is hard to get used to.

valves updates cause some more problems than they fix it seems lol (jk)

Hmm that's quite ingenious. I think gotta try that. It's a little hard to reach the F2 button right now...

Well it seems to be general problem. I just assined it to the F1 key and i'm justed to it already ^^ hope the fix it in the full version

i thought u can only bind 1 function per key.. so how did u pull this off?

No idea i only play css for 4 days and so i have realy no idea... it's prolly good scripter...

bind R "+reload"; "+showscores" or something. I think the ; is the key to the general scripting/coding/binding here.
