Missing images...

Hello...i got a problem and couldn't find an answer in any of the topics. I can't see some images in the game: like instead of the cross symbol for health i see a letter, instead of the armour symbol i see a letter...everytime someone dies i dont see the weapon the have been killed with...but...you guessed...a letter.
I tried deleting the huge 900 megs GFC file and redownloaded and its the same.
I have a Radeon 9800 Pro (128M) with the latest Catalyst from ATI.
Ideeas???

yeah same problem...but i have it on de_dust the default map...i havent done anything illegal like some suggested in your post....and i have delete everything and then redownloaded....same thing!!!

i know many people that had this bug and steam didnt download the missing files automaticly, so here is the fix as i posted it on halflifesource.com:

If you have problems with your HUD in CS:S, such as numbers and letters instead of weapon icons and other unpleasant stuff, just download the fix here:
http://humanoid.deflektor.com/downloads/gaming/css/css_hud_fix.zip

Instructions:
extract the contents into your counter-strike source beta\cstrike folder.

example:
D:\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\-=humanoid=-\counter-strike source beta\cstrike
