I just want to know if I'm missing a sound when I'm reloading my 9 mm.

You see, at least in the original CounterStrike and CS: CZ, you can very well hear when you insert a new magazine into the gun.
But in Half-Life 2, when I reaload the 9 mm, I don't hear any specific sound as the magazine is inserted, it's dead quiet.
I get like one single soundeffect when reloading that weapon - I expected at least a couple.

If someone could FRAP me an audio/video clip where you reload the 9 mm would be great for verification.

Thanks for any help !

My rig meets and well-exceeds all the requirements but I get the same thing. It's very distinct. You can clearly hear the spent clip being removed from the gun, but when he jams the new one in, it's completely silent. I don't know a whole lot about that specific pistol, but I really think the last half of that reload should make a sound.

EXACTLY !

That is exactly how it is for me too. (I have a Soundblaster Audigy 2 zs with pretty fresh drivers and I certainly meet the reqs.)

I just soooo want a sound when a new clip is loaded !

There are some missing sounds in the game (it should tell you in the console when it happens)

Yep,me too with asus mobo,on board sound, seems like a VERY common problem. :(

It's not a problem, Valve didn't make a sound for it. In fact, over all the preview videos and stuff it's never had a sound. I assume it's deliberate.

Yeah, there just isnt a sound for it.. its weird. It's like that for everyone, its how the game was shipped.

But why ? its so easy to fix and kinda annoying when you play it for the first time, it was the first thing I felt that should be fix.

I sorta hear a faint *click* when you insert the magazine. Maybe I was hallucinating. :p

well, weird... everytime I reload my pistol... I hear a sound... a clicking sound. maybe my HL2 copy is complete eventhough its illegal copy. :bonce:

I hate to be a Killzine fan but does it really matter?

P.S. Killzone is crap and Doom 3 sucks my DICK.
I love Steam

Get banned.

Well, it's not like that having a reload sound will increase the pistol's damage or something, it's just a small cliche, get over it and enjoy the gravity gun instead! :p

No, but it does add for realism as reloading a pistol isn't completly silent, and for some it adds the whole "Click, click, im going to kick your a **" feeling. A gun cocking can be a very scary sound.

While were at it, I love how the slide magically flys back during mid-magazine when you reload. Even the Glock 17 in the original Half-Life didn't do that.

Yea am missing it too, they should fix it. Would add more feel to reloading but ow well not too big of a deal

so why doesn't someone pull the sound out of the cache, edit it with some little click thing from another sound effect, and throw it in the "sound" folder?

i would, but I don't really feel like booting up my gaming comp right now.
