Missing steam update?

hey,

Last night about 11pm GMT (3pm PMT) i had a steam download for hl2.

I got to 30% quite quickly so it must have been small, i guessed it was cs:s maps as i dont have the beta. But i had to pause to go to bed, so this morning i start it up and it says the same "you have a locked copy" thing.

Anyone else get this or know what it was?

If I understand you right, you're trying to load CS:S through HL2. You only preloaded Half-Life 2. Thats just the single player. You have to add CS:Source to your games list, as it is a separate download (even though it comes in the same purchase package.)

i thought css maps came with the hl2 preload?

Yeah they did Chriso...before CS:Source Final went live the final release of the beta equated to 27.5% of the HL2 preloading thing (I know because I downloaded all the CS:Source beta cache(s) and then tried my luck with the HL2 preload on 56k).

But now its a seperate entity so the Half-Life 2 preload is just that..the HL2 cache files, the percentage ignores CS:Source Final.
