Hey, I'm trying to upgrade some RAM for Mom
she's only got 256MB and she has 1 free slot
she's got samsung PC2 - 3200U - 333
I've got 3 old sticks of old RAM laying around, and I was hoping that I could improve her situation.
She's running XP and mostly does word processing/email/internet browsing. No gaming
I've got 3 sticks here and I don't know which one would be best. I can't even tell how much RAM all of them have
1) PC100-322 - 620 ??unknown RAM - probably 128?

is this going to help her for the tasks she does? More ram should make things faster - less caching
But I'm aware these sticks are not as fast, so will that be a big difference?

Does it matter which memory type I use between SDRAM, DDR, DDR2 and DDR3 - why not just use the fastest? The computer usually only supports one of these memory types because each are somewhat different in physical construction and electrical characteristics, and therefore require their own type of memory slot in which the memory module is inserted. If the computer does happen to support more than one type, the actual memory used must be all of the same type.
