why is it so awkwardly tasty?!

i remember i hated it when i was young...but now it's really fine. :O

I don't know lol. I prefer other chocolates over it, but it's not bad.

I've always been a bit on-and-off with After Eights. At the moment it's on.

I used to like them but since a few years ago they started making me feel ill. Its the mint , I suddenly stopped liking everything with mint flavouring for some reason.

Sucks if you have bad breath and you can't chew mint flavoured gum! :P

Chocolate and mint? What the christ?

The British and food, they'll never learn..

I jest you not. To me it tasted like eating a bar of solidified barf.

Mint and chocolate should not be mixed.

It taste like disgusting toothpaste.

Those look like condom wrappers, but they're really CHOCOLATE INSIDE

Chocolate and mint shouldn't be mixed?? I guess some people haven't heard of the king of ice cream flavours...

As for After Eights, I never really liked them either as a kid, which was awkward because my parents loved them. I need to try them now that I'm older and have a lust for disgusting tasting stuff, like beer.

Chocolate and mint. No thanks. TBH I prefer my chocolate with nothing else in it.

1. After Eights are okay after eight, but eat them a minute before and they're disgusting.

2. Battered mars bars are amazing. You will burp constantly for the next three days but it will be worth it.

So many people in here hate chocolate and mint? This place is too crazy.

I've never had deep fried mars bars. Ah well, hopefully they have them in ireland when I'm there this spring break.

Chocolate and mint is an acquired taste.

Heathens.

<3 After Eights. Got two boxes of them for X-mas. Yummy Yummy.

You know what? Dark chocolate is a slippery slope of peril. I started off eating 45% cacao, then 60. Soon I wanted to try eating darker, more concentrated chocolates, and even though at 65% it started tasting like I was eating wood I kept going.

Before Christmas I got ahold of a bar that was 100% cacao. Pure chocolate.

I would not wish that taste upon my worst enemy. I don't say that because I'm trying to be humorous or to follow an old cliche line, but quite literally: I WOULD NOT WISH THAT ON MY WORST ENEMY. It is a torture no man should experience. It grips your tongue and nothing can shake it. The taste becomes a part of you. It is like eating tree bark coated in chalk that has aged in the dankest, deepest underground caverns of the world.

i only managed to go up to 70% before reaching the point where your brain goes into puke mode.

You are my father.

I think the highest I've ever eaten is 75%. I could never go higher than that. Dark chocolate is my favourite, though.

I do believe I have found a loop hole with the whole "only after eight oh bloody clock" thing. See , if it means after 8pm then that means you can have them at whatever time you want because after 12am there's 8am coming up , however , you can technically still eat after eights because its still after 8pm the day before. Which means when 8am does come you can carry on after that too.

The whole idea of time controlled chocolate is rather flawed.

You confused me so much there, Mech, that you made my headache worse! But please don't try to explain again.

Mint should stay where it belongs, in toothpaste, bubblegum and breath mints.

Mint + chocolate = :x

Chocolate and mint is reserved for those shitty after dinner mints you get in the finer eating establishments

Honestly, you foreigners have absolutely no taste (literally). After Eights are the nicest chocolate mints ever!

They're ok, except I prefer Chocolate by its self.

Or Terry's Chocolate orange, had one yesterday. Lovely :P

Some of you say you didn't like them when you were younger. I'm young, and I don't like them, so that means I'll like them when I am older. Yay.

Terry's orange, yum!

How do you know you wont just end up mega-hating them?

Everyone who says mint and chocolate don't go together have never had one of these:

Beveled for emphasis. Andes mints are king. It's hard to believe they're made by the same company that makes disgusting tootsie rolls.

Mint and chocolate - no thanks.

Regular milk chocolate is where it's at. The really cheap ones are awful though. Surprisingly, Tesco's chocolate is really good, I didn't expect that.
