Sparta, not a fan of FPS RPGs, are you? STALKER looks fantastic for its genre, it doesn't appeal to everyone. I can't wait for STALKER

No, i love FPS RPG games, loved System Shock 2 to death, same with Deus Ex, but Stalker just looks boring.

P.S : Colonel Sanders, i can't remember who said it earlier but Tron 2.0 uses the Jupiter 2 engine, just thought i'd say

hellllllll no

hl2 4ever

a good story is never outdated..

I don't have a "the game" right now, im equally exited about all of the new games (exept farcry, don't like the graphics). But story wise, HL2 seems to be far ahead of the other games.

Edit: Yay combine for meh!

I wouldn't say it's necessarily out-dated as such - not by a long-shot. Thing is; we've seen the screenshots (more importantly the same screenshots) repeatedly and watched the videos (again - the same videos) so many times and so now we're used to the look. We should be mindful that all that media isn't completely from the latest build and that we haven't had any real new media in AGES, so things might be a little better (emphasis on little). Besides, things WILL be more impressive when we finally play the damn thing.
Also, let's not forget that graphics, whilst nice, aren't the be-all and end-all. Hopefully this game'll have good gameplay and story elements (before you flame me for that "heretical" comment, just remember that things can always go arse over tit at the last hurdle). Let us not forget the original GTA (and GTA2) or Deus Ex, to cite 2 examples of game over graphics.

Interesting poll results.

I refuse to play another game based on the quake 3 engine, the Q3 engine has a specific feel to it which I just can't stand anymore. Also I'm pretty fed up of ww2 shooters especialy the MOH series which is being milked for all it's worth, I liked COD and RTCW but I'v reached saturation point whith games from that period and setting, I really don't want to pick up another game which features a thompson and MP40.

I just watched some of the tech videos and I wasn't that impressed with the graphics, the physics was good but the ragdols were jerking and just didn't seam that natural. I liked the planes but the guy was shooting them down pretty easily with just a small gun which i doubt has that kind of accuracy, also I don't think planes always explode in mid air.

WW2 games/films are a tad passe now (daahling) - would anyone else like to see WW1 stuff? A game based around the desperation of war (a bit like OpFlash but on a larger scale) - a novel idea...
