MMO Watch: Stargate Worlds

I've never really got into any MMOs but I might take a look at this if it is received well.
 
I love Stargate SG1; considering my last MMO, Vanguard, got RAEPED, maybe this one will be good...
 
i haven't been able to find a video yet. May just take a while for someone to put it up somewhere...
 
As long as this contains stargates I'm getting it.
 
Love Stargate, would love it if they bothered to release that FPS that was finished but cut off by the guys holding the Stargate rights or something.

Trailer looks fine but I don't play MMO's.
 
I don't care for it too much either. The movie was fun though.
 
It's an MMO. You know how they are with gender equality, regardless of plot relevance.
 
meh. The movie was good but the series (which I think it is based on) never really appealed to me.
 
I loved the movie, but the series was also good, though it got kind of finicky at the end.

Unfortunately they had to do the "everyone speaks English" thing; good for plot and stuff, but still, :|

They also changed Jaffa. They used to be very Elite in the movie, and early series, but they where not so much later on. Part of this is because we adapted our bullets to damage their armour better, but in some episodes they kind of acted dumb. Do love their weapons and armour, though.

Yeah, everyone, all the aliens and cultures in two galaxies speak English except for the Russian's on Earth. :laugh:

Fortunately (with the exception of the first season) it has generally good quality episodes.
 
I thought the first season was amongst the best! Why didn't you like it?

The general look and feel of it just screams 'crappy cable sci-fi show'. Sometimes I think Sci-Fi tries too hard to be dramatic, or touching, or meaningful, or whatever and it doesn't work for me when they try to force these moments upon the viewer rather than letting the plot and characters naturally define when and how these moments should be. The Stargate universe and characters are underdeveloped and there generally isn't enough plot in the episodes.
Having said all that it isn't all bad but I give out the 'first season warning' to anyone interested in watching Stargate just in case they don't like it in the hopes they will stick around for the second season and beyond.

I should point out that Stargate isn't the only Sci-Fi I like but has similar problems in its first season, Deep Space Nine and Farscape for example.
 
I thought it was perfectly fine. It was different enough for me to enjoy it. Sure the first season wasn't as high-budget as the later ones, anyone who expects that is stupid.

Infact I just watched the movie again 20 mins ago :D

Yeah the movie is enjoyable, I watched it a few days ago. A friend lent me all 10 seasons and the movie so I'm rewatching them all :thumbs:
 
I'm so Buying this game.. I love stargate and being able to play it would be frekin awsome!!!

Or Babylon 5 with the retard actor playing the commander in season 1.

Please, Stargate SG1 deserves better.
 
If they will release some trial version, I want to be an Asgard like Thor.
