Incase anyone is interested i'll throw out a small list of mmorpgs and you can look them up at your whim.

You might be able to find something in that list to suit your needs. Keep in mind that not all of those game are out yet but I believe almost all of them should be out within a year or so. Some will be longer of course.

I'm not sure it is so much a game as virtual world/cum chat room, but it has a 2 week free trial. I'm tempted to enter it's day glo weirdness at some point just to have looksee.

Yes please tell me if its worth the money, its a kickass concept really but id rather wait a year or so to get in it.
 
I played the Lineage 2 beta... its really fun, and the graphics are amazing!!! But it went p2p over in japan so... bye bye free play time :)
 
Well that's it folks! I'm hooked on SWG, it's just like AO except with Han solo stunt doubles everywhere hehe : )

I played an AO demo, for about a whole 15 minutes... and well.... it sucks crap. Worst game I have ever played. IMHO

and in the space expansion do you have to make a new character and build them up and earn money and spend time to build them up in order to fly spaceships? if it's anything like that, i have no interest whatsoever.

if your space expansion character is separate and only deals with the space aspects of star wars, then i have a small interest, but still lots of skepticism.

They are releasing it late because people will have had enough time to make a great character, so they can move into space. So, you don't have to make a new space char. And if you can't wait 5 minutes for the shuttle, your just impatient.

Hey pat_thetic could you possibly list a few of the changes they have made to SWG in the past few months? I can't access the forums because I canceled my old account and I am curious to see how the general attitude of everyone is now.

The game was fun but as I started becoming more advanced I realized there wasn't really much for me to do, then my beloved test center community was taken over so I just kinda left and figured I would give it a few months. I quit right about the time where they put on a patch that would allow non-CHs to have pets and the first story line began. So have they come a wayz yet?
 
You should try YOHOHO! Puzzle Pirates,

it's the only MMORPG that i've actually ever paid for after the trial period, it is so addictive :p

They fixed the lightning gun and flamethrower, added mounts(they are everywhere now), added player cities(this involves the addition of over 10 buildings that architects can make) they have added artisan, explorer, and entertainer mission terminals, and have done a great job with the storyline.

Whoa that sounds badass really. Hmm explorer? My kind of class :) ill still wait though FFXI is keeping me busy and i wouldnt wanna neglect either one of the 2.
 
There are like a hundred classes. It all depends how you mix them. Like you can be a carbineer and a pistoleer, and your class is a gunfighter. It's pretty cool.
 
I heard combat was pretty boring is it? Does anyone know if there is a 15 day free trial for dl or something?
 
it's the exact same combat as all the other mmorpg, but it's lasers and rocket launchers and grenades and stuff. Their are swords and stuff but they are like vibro blades which are awsome. There are like 100 combat moves to, so like you click a button and your guy will roll onto the ground then fire, and then there is like rapid fire and other stuff. It's a really fun game, but they don't have a trial sorry :\
 
Yeah, no trial. I really think they did melee right in this game. I used to be a polearm specialist and I did some incredible moves. It made you feel like you could kick major ass.
 
Dan that sucks no trial..eh ill wait til i get tired of FFXI or the price drops low low.
 
Second day of gameplay; it's 7:43 am and I'm almost a Master Marksmen, I'm aiming for Rifleman class. I think I've progressed nicely today, I grouped with an expert commando and his team, we killed dewbacks and imperial stormtroopers for 4 hours straight... my eyes are bleeding but I managed to reach rifles IV.

Funny thing happened too, we were planning on grouping with another band of rebels on Naboo, when we got off the Starport we got massively raped by imperial players (about 50 of them). Going overt is not a good idea it seems unless you're some kind of Jedi Master.

Anyway I need to get apprentice points soon and I can't find anyone to teach, things aren't quite as easy as I expected : /

Overall great game, except for the occasional CTDs.
