Welcome to our new community driven mod database!

The purpose of this new system is to get away from the stagnant out of date list we attempted to keep of the current modifications out there and instead have something the community can update themselves.

This list is aimed at modification leaders only to add their mods to the listing so that they can keep their mod page updated with news, releases and any other information they want. Our community can then comment on these mods.

I have to request that the general community do not post mods they are not a part of so that the mod team themselves can manage their own pages.

The community can search through this listing is different ways. You can view mods by category, by the date added to the list, by view count (popularity), by number of comments or simply in alphabetical order.

It is my hope that this list grows to a complete list of mods available for Half-Life 2 and that mod teams can get some valuable feedback on them.

For ideas on what to add to your page you can include:

Introduction
Gameplay
Features
Weapons/Characters
Images as attached files
Website URL
Download Links
News Updates
And anything else you can think of!

If you do this as a mod, and you post regular updates here, will they appear on the front page too?

Hey simon,

We hope to have a feed on the front page (on the right side) with a few of the most 'recently' updated mod pages. So for example, if you have an update for Off Limits you could post it in your specific mod section and it will push the mod into the 'recently updated section' due to the new post. I believe Munro is trying to iron out a small bug we have right now, but I'll send out a circular email to mod leaders etc when it's there.

cool thanks, sounds alright :)
any chance this feed can also work externally? for instance if we update our site it appears here as well (we use wordpress) this way I get to only update one site :>

There is a way we could do that (since we use wordpress too) but with some other changes coming in the near future we may not be using it for too long next year with vb4.0 on the way.

I see, it would just be interesting (and helpful) for mods if a mod news site like hl2.net could tap in mods that are actively being made, so people who check for mod news can see it all on one site, almost like hl2.net is the big brother of it all, and mod sites are connected to it (it will help both parties I think) and make a lot of peoples lives easier on both sides :)

Hey this is Yegs of Habanero in charge of Derailed, I think I just noticed an issue. There's a limit to how many times one can edit their post, yes? Is it possible to veto this limit for all posts in the "mods" section so that I can keep updating my mod as many times as I want?

Cheers,
Y.

Apologies, I have fixed that now so you can edit indefinitely.
