Thought of a good multiplayer mod idea for HL2, combine vs resistance... same as everyone else's but I decided to go a bit deeper into it.
It would be done with classes.
Combine -
Civil Protection Officer
Overwatch Patrol Officer
Heavy Arms Overwatch Officer
Combine Assasin (the one that was in the beta... limited to... i dont know... so many per team)
Engineer (can set up turrets and stuff and possible objectives, and those hopper mines)
And more not thought of yet (just toying with the ideas now)
Resistance -
City 17 Citizen (Light arms)
Resistance Fighter (Moderately Equipped)
Heavy Arms Resistance Fighter 9Rocket launcher... to take down striders [which will be explained])
Vortigaunts
And more not thought of yet (just toying with the ideas now)
Vehicles -
VALVe said that for fun they made the strider a driveable vehicle, so in each map, put a strider thats drivable (the lucky one to get to it first gets it obviously). Also maybe a gunship or something. Also making the combine tank... car... whatever the hell they are things drivable aswell... able to carry 2 other soldiers in the back or something like that,
For resistance, they get... i dont know, 3 buggy's per map? more? all with the gauss cannon, and for watery areas there would be mud skippers with the gun they ripped off of a combine helicopter.
Maps -
The maps would be large, suited for 64 people
Large, City 17 maps (using the same kind of scenery but all custom made to be larger and more suitable for MP)
Highway 17 Maps
A fun indoor Nova Prospekt style map which are smaller
Map like the water hazard areas with less deep water for when you're on foot, but deep enough for the mudskippers
** One side of the city 17 maps would have combine style structures in them, that is where the combine would start the match, the other side would have more tunnely and underground areas for the resistance to start in.
Weapons -
Resistance would get a crowbar as thier melee weapon, or perhaps a lead pipe (liek the guy with the manhacks in Route Kanal)
Combine would get thier cattle prods as a melee weapon, able to use with or without it turned on.
Combine would get the overwatch standard issue, the mp7, usp match, and a new sniper rifle (designed to be combine style... you know what i mean), and whatever other combine weapons it would take to make things even.
Resistance would get all of the weps gordo gets, with like... 10 manipulators in a room for 10 lucky, and fast, people to use in their battles.

I plan to make things even however I have to, but how cool would that be for a HL2 mp?
the mp it deserves.
Again, just an idea i'm toying around with. Always open to suggestions and critisism. It wouldn't take longer than any normal SP mod (with minimal modelling and small amounts of textures to be made, most of it would be mapping and coding)
Even could contain objectives, like resistance have to destroy 4 generators marked on the maps, scattered around or something cool like that.
Any ideas? Wanna help? Anything?
