So, the biggest factor in determining the longevity of HL2 is going to be the mod support. I figured it'd be interesting to see what everyone thinks would be a fun mod or fun feature to add in a mod based on the capabilities of the Source engine. So whatcha think?
Personally I thought the idea of making a waiting room type areas with big screen TV's to observe a multiplayer match would be awesome.
Another idea is to use cables to create bungie jumping, ofcourse, I have no clue how you'd make this into a mod. Perhaps bungie combat? Cables/rope in HL2 can have elasticity because they're made with joints connected with springs. That's why you can see cables swinging in the HL2 videos. I'm quite sure it would be possible to make a giant rope that has just enough elasticity to be used for a bungie cable. Gordon has simulated weight, so i'm quite sure this would work.
Another thing that would just be a blast, and i'm sure alot of people have thought of this, is a mod where you can ride the striders. Perhaps some kind of strider deathmatch type mod. Gabe said in an interview that the Valve team did this for fun, so it's definately possible. It would be a blast!
