That book gives you some different approaches to modeling a character, deffinately a good buy IMO.

they have a few specific on site tuts for max and then when u scroll down it has about 3 pages of links to max tuts.

3dbuzz has some great XSI tutorials... u need to register on their site and then go to the downloads section

It's a great book and it's the size of a phone book because each stage had pictures.
