Bah.

I hate being that middle ground.

I don't want Bush to fight it out with the Middle East, yet I don't want terrorists to attack the West. I want people to talk and negotiate things out before it ever becomes an issue.

I don't want Palestinians to keep blowing themselves up over a toenail of land, but I understand the need for a Jewish nation. I want people to share, and start putting differences and prejudice aside.

I see the need for a woman to control her own bodily functions, but I could never support the abortion of a baby late in the pregnancy. I want there to be a middle ground, and a time limit on such things.

I'm not gay myself, but I want equal rights for gay people. I understand the issues some religions have with it. I want civil unions, with all the benefits of marriage, and if a religion doesn't mind gay people, then let them call it marriage.

I see that some news stations are often very biased, but to some people, that's the news source that identifies with them.

I hope people understand that sometimes the middle ground is often the hardest to take and stand by, when people of both sides are against it.

Sometimes, I have trouble choosing between chocolate and vanilla ice cream. I bite my nails and ponder which flavor to choose for hours. I then start thinking of a compromise, and consider purchasing caramel instead. But then I risk having both chocolate and vanilla ice cream viewing me as an indecisive weakling, and I fear that they may develop a common goal in my destruction for purchasing quiet, unassuming, innocent caramel.

I feel you, man.

It shouldn't have to be. I can never understand why people are never satisfied with the half way point.

Edit: I can, but they're still frustrating in their efforts to drag everything all their way.

I usually just get mint chocolate chip.

but yeah, polarization sucks.

People are never satisfied with the half-way point because they figure "hey..if we KILL them...we won't have to give them what they want, and more for us!" And, unfortunately, that's usually the easier solution.

Damn skippy.

As far as the terrorism issues go. Chalk that up to the entire culture of islamofacism.

Talking doesn't work with those people. Not at all. They wouldn't hesitate to kill you for you are not the same as them.

The terror groups of Palestine don't want a two state peace agreement, they want the Jews pushed into the sea. The Palestinians who really do care you won't see involved with those groups, they fight for true by effective means and cooperation.

As far as abortion goes, that's how it is now (kind of.. you can still abort pretty sickeningly late in the pregnancy) but at least some of the sickest forms are banned. I am personally for totally banning it, as I feel it's disgusting to kill a baby because "I couldn't make my choice at not having sex, and I don't want to buy the big jar of mayo" But as it is now, your stances are in charge.

I think a majority of people agree with civil unions legally binding a couple, it's just the term "marriage" is a religious one and always should be. They can have the same rights.

I'm on the exact opposite side of RakuraiTenjin here, middle ground is not possible, because americans will not be satisfied without blood, bush himself said "he was running out of patience" .. he want war NOW!!!!1111
how do you expect this guy to talk? and if he goes to war, are we supposed to sit down and dream and hope that "someday" he will be a good guy?
He's jsut too arrogant to listen to the mind and wisdome. he thinks he is the most powerful country in the world and he can kick the ass of who ever he wants.

over a toenail of land
a what? dude .. it's our land, it's not a toenail! duh!
What is the middle ground? somebody steals your home and kills your children, then tells you "ok ok .. I'll give you a room or two, and you have to stop attacking me because you are a ****ing terrorist!"

Chalk that up to the entire culture of islamofacism.
Chalk your words up to the culture of anti-islamism.

THose who linger in the middle of the road will get run over..........

Uh....what? I don't particularly want blood, it's sticky and stains your clothes. And how do you figure George Bush thinks he is the most powerful country in the world? He is the most powerful man in the world, and America is the most powerful country in the world. It's not arrogance. It's a fact. If it wasn't, we wouldn't be having these endless debates. THis boils down to, "OMFG, America is too powerful and we aren't getting any of that," penis envy type stuff.

I give this post a 10/5. Or, an 11/10. :D

did you really get in any of these debates? cuz that was never part of the objection ..
and you see, it IS arrognce, because he thinks he can do whatever he wants without any deterrance.

What? Your land? I thought you were Iraqi?

And if you're talking about 'It belongs to Islam', that's not only stupid and hypocritical compared to past statements you've made, but also... I don't think the majority of Middle Eastern countries could even agree to share the land either, since many of them can't stop killing each other.

Hey. America wasnt stepping into anything, until after the 9/11 attack.

Roughly three thousand dead. In one day. I remember that day like it was yesterday. I was so pissed. I would of enlisted, but my age conflicted with my desire. So shove your bloodshed bullshit.

As for Israel, who was the victor of the Six Day War?
Hmmmm

Israel.

Ironic, Israel was up against Syria, Egypt and I believe Jordan. All three were supplied by the Soviet Union. The infantry and armor ratio was in favor of the Arab nations, but Ironically, Israel pushed them back well behind thier borders and if it wasnt for the UN and US, Israel wouldnt of stopped.

Yep. The UN did stop Israel. Be thankful for the west, otherwise Gaza would be ... well ... all over the place.

He might be referring to Saddam's dream of being a modern-day equivalent of King Nebuchadnezzar. Ruling an empire from the Mediterranean Sea to the Persian Gulf.

This would involve Iraq conquering Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and Israel.

And to for good measure Iran, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.

But obviously he wouldn't find anything wrong about that. Heh heh.

idiot! if i and some other here 500 years ago would be a freakin' knight, or 2000 yera before a freakin' philosopher, which you know were at the top of the social ladder! its just our culture today that bashes the middle standing people!! many philosophers consider this the perfect way of life (not too much not too little-balance)!

It's a comparitively tiny piece of land that's not great for anything really.

Much like a toenail.

Edit: It wasn't "Arabic" land anyway. Britain pwned it way back.

and you're a moderate?! ... :/

I don't go for middle ground, I go for what I think is right (often the middle ground), and what needs the most attention.

Many people know I strongly oppose Bush, but fear not, I hate the terrorists, and Saddam too - I just feel Bush is the greater threat, and needs more attention directed at him. If any third world country did what America is doing now, they would be invaded and the government overthrown.

The problem in life, I think Kangy, is no-one else seems to be a middle grounder, and being one makes making change difficult.

You know who I wish were middle grounders? The people running this country, that'd be nice.

No war. Cancelling third world debt (which has been paid off, they're onto the interest now). Letting me puff on a joint after lectures without fear of being punished. Letting religious differences alone.

That'd be kewl.

To peace, and the middle ground guys

sorta hard to be on the middle ground when there are so many views on a single subject. that and the ever present force of if your not with us, your against us

I feel that the "middle" is halfway between crap and crap so I would rather just make a choice between one of the two than throw a third crap in there.

there should be a 3rd even a 4th party.
yes we have the libertarians or the green but the way our election system is set up all other 3rd parties have no chance in winning.
