Kinda bought this on a whim this afternoon after playing the demo yesterday. It seems to be the bastard child of Big Little Planet and Mario Kart. Especially the designing of tracks is a lot of fun and very easy. Does anyone else have it?

It's on my list, always loved the look of it. Plus there's never been a multiplayer game I can play with my Dad since Mario Kart, so this should be a great replacement.
 
Waiting on an amazon.com price drop so I can use my $20 gift card from RDR. Demo was fun. Making tracks is way too easy.
 
I played it and wasn't impressed. It's a Mario kart type game that didn't seem as fun as Mario Kart. The track creation is cool and easy to use but the load times killed it for me.
 
Tried the demo and the beta seems ok i guess. Didnt interest me enough to buy it.

The creation tools are not as expansive as LBP's but are much more accessible. While they have got this aspect down the actual racing i just thought was kinda meh :|

and yeah the load times are abit of a *****
 
Yeah, the load times are very long. The devs are saying they will fix this tho. For what it's worth ofc.

With an adorable story like that they might just put you in a commercial.

I've seen quite a bit of this, it's on my 'Force PS3 owning friend to buy while I hold a gun to his head' list.

Well when we tried to play the Wii together it was a disaster, we invited a couple of hookers over, I started dancing terribly and he had 'Nam flashbacks...

You create the basic track path by literally driving it out, then you got some tools to make jumps, boost pads etc.

Character mods are just a bunch of stickers and stuff put together.
 
I played the demo but I'll wait for the $30 price drop 3 months from now.

While it looks fun, I'll hold of....
 
Do get it when the price drops though. I bet you'll especially like the online part.

EDIT I keep repeating myself but it is. The tables keep turning and it is very much a game of spectacular recoveries and photo finishes.

the mods are insane.

i HATE the unlocking in this game. wtf happened to just winning? we gotta do all these tacky little side challenges AND finish first to get shit. stuff is gayer than the load times.

Yeh, the loading times and the stupid unlocking are my biggest gripes about the game. Just gimme all the tools. I paid for them. I really don't care about the campaign. I just wanna race online and build stuff.
 
It's one of the most frequent complaints over in the feedback thread at the official forums (the other being ai and the loading). one can only hope they'll listen and incorporate fixes for THIS game and not some bs sequel.

Although what you said bout the unlokcs has immediately put me off :|
 
I just downloaded a 100% save file, now I don't have to worry about all that unlocking stuff. Schwet.
 
I'm never letting booze take over my thoughts again!

I now own a copy of this game.

I still have yet to understand how to play this game. Then again, I've only played it while drunk, which MIND YOU is hella fun.

Later on would be anywhere between now and five to six hours.

Controls are quite easy if even I can grasp em ;)
 
Do you haveto pay for the character packs? Like that Crash one Lambda posted. Or is it all free?

Damn, the CTR track recreations are brilliant. Moar want.
 
The one that Lamda posted is free. It's still a fan creation, he's just pizzazzing it by calling it a pack.

All the user generated content is free. There is currently just one DLC pack you have to pay for, but since the quality of the gamer made stuff is so high, I don't see myself buying anything anytime soon.
