Was DOD baugt by Valve?

What were the other MODs baugt by Valve ?

Just for curiosity, thanks.

*Bought

And VALVe acquired them, and paid them to work for them(well most of them). You can't really buy something that is free, if you understand what I mean :)

They also acquired CS, that is basically all the mods VALVe got from the community, well, all I can think of ;P

Thanks man, I was I never really knew how to spell that name.
So it was : CS; DOD; and TFC ?

if it shows up in the "games" menu in steam, then its valve 'owned' (thats the first section of the games menu to be more accurate)

richochet was created at valve, so it's not something that was bought.

Yeah.. Ricochet was created by Valve, although it seems to be an homage to Tron.

TFC was created by Valve, and similarly it is an homage to TF for Quake.

gunman isnt really a mod, its more like nightfire, in that its a new game on the HL engine

Well, I thought it started as a mod and was bought out by Valve and made into an (crappy) retial game?

Gunman started as a mod and was acquired by Valve and turned into a commercial game. I think.

Valve hired the developers of the original Teamfortress, so I'd imagine that they had a role in the development of TFC. Valve also acquired Worldcraft (now known as Valve Hammer) to make maps for Half-Life (and now HL2). Saved them the trouble of writing a new editor.

theres so much i dont know about valve history

Nope, they just used the HL engine, whoever made Gunman Chronicals and produced on sierra's label.
