MoH 32 multiplayer on Wii

When the price of the Wii comes down, I'll get one, just to borrow my brother's kid's games. They've got like 10 games already.

Oh, and FPS on the Wii FTL. Man, I just don't think I could do it. I'll wait to find out what wii owners/PC gamers think of the controls.

EDIT: wait a minute - how do you control FPS on the Wii?

The nunchuck for movement and the Wiimote like a mouse? That actually sounds perfect. Now I just need something to hold my arm up for an hour. ;)

Alright: In Call of Duty 3, the nunchuk's stick thingie is used to move about. Z is croch, hold t to go prone. C is to get up or jump.
The wiimote is used to move around the gun and view. B trigger shoots, A brings your sight in, and the lil control pad thing has grenades and reload and attack (if you don't want to do the motion).
Move the wiimote right to switch guns. up to reload, back to melee. Intense sequences with nazi's (read: Naszi) trying to rape you is fun, swiping around the wiimotes to jack his gun and hit him with it.

Oh: And do I seriously have to buy an adapter to get wiionline?)

It's close to a mouse for accuracy although how you use it is a bit different. The crosshair aim and view is the same thing in FPS on the PC with a mouse. It's always center. On the Wii the cross hair is either aiming or view, not both at the same time. So you aim on the screen where you want to shoot (think duck hunt) and to look else where generally you move the cross hair far enough to the edge (up,down,left,right) and then your view changes. Metroid Prime 3 has it the best and lets you lock on a target and strafe facing it while still allowing you to freely aim anywhere on the screen.

Did you play COD3 on the Wii? How was the controls for it? Good, poor? I've seen different opinions of course.

Wii is wifi or get USB->ethernet adapter.

I played CoD3 through a fair bit on the Wii and it was pretty horrible.

Will the 360 version have 32players?

That looks fun as hell, I love light gun gameplay. I'll have to look into the Zapper when I get my Wii.

CoD 3 for the Wii is one of the worst things ever, by the way.

Now I just need something to hold my arm up for an hour. ;)

Or do what the rest of us do and rest your elbow on your leg? :)

Anyway, Metroid Prime should set the standard for FPS controls on the Wii.

That completely sucks.

Why can't you use the Wiimote like a mouse?

Why can't you point where you want to look, and center is your crosshair, like a mouse?

The only thing I can think of is that the Wii can't keep a good framerate while turning on two seperate axis(screen moving up/down while screen moving left/right), which is two completely different calculations.

For example, while just moving forward, you get a better framerate then while moving forward and turning. Anyone who has played a PC game that has too high requirements for your PC should know it.

Damn shame. No can do.

I'll just use my gigantic penis to prop it up.

**** me, that's awesome! :D

Wiimote accuracy = mouse accuracy for me :E

COD 3 was alright, completed it in two evenings... never play it again.

Can't wait for new MOH now...

... What? The reason the Wiimote doesn't function exactly the same way as a mouse is that there's no way to guarantee the crosshair won't move. With a mouse, you look straight forward and then let the mouse stop. With a Wiimote, you look straight forward, and then try and hold it steady while watching it waver. And because the Wiimote is so tactile (based on pointing at specific points on the screen), you kind of have to have controls based partly around the crosshair moving across the screen.

And "the Wii can't keep a good framerate while turning on two seperate axis" makes no sense. That's the kind of limitation you'd expect to see from an NES or Genesis. The Wii is more powerful than an Xbox, remember.

Technically it could be coded to be center screen like when you play FPS games on the PC. But you lift your mouse up and reposition it to keep looking around in a 3D space. You would need a button on the Wiimote that would make the pointer not change your view as you aim back at center.

That's the other point I forgot. If it functioned like a mouse, in order to look "backwards" you'd have to have the Wiimote pointing over your shoulder away from the TV :p

Nunchuck = Movement
Wiimote = Look
