Why must fileplanet have EVERYTHING. I HATE fileplanet.

D:

Wait a few hours for mirrors. 15 minutes left for my download. Can't wait. :)

Be sure to post your opinions once you've played it.

You can probably predict what its going to be like if you've played previous MOH games. I'm most interested in the "start anywhere" thing. That will really give huge re-play value to the demo/full game. ;)

EDIT: Its only pre-loading right now. FACK you fileplanet!

I wish my flash drive was 2GB instead of just one. ;(

*waiting for key to unlock*

I f*cking hate this pre-loading bullsh*t!!! Ah well, gonna download Wii SUPER METROID!!! Metroid FTW.

uhhhh
anyone know if the 360 demo is out yet?

Checked the marketplace just a few minutes ago when looking for the Skate demo, there was no Airborne demo on there.

ya i think it's out tomorrow
gotta be honest though im not expecting much from this game
:sniper:

This game looks meh, but i guess ill give the demo a shot. So sick of ww2 games.

IW made the right decision to switch settings, yay another WW2 FPS, and get this, set with the Airborne...

The game seems a gimmick from the previews, but I'll get it a shot.

I'm glad I got my FREE 12 month subscription.:p I had it reserved so it started automatically downloading directly, had it when I woke up, its pretty fun imo.

Got it downloading while I wait for 2K to get their act together and allow me to get Bioshock playing!

C'mon people! What is it like? And post some screens! I am at work, quite bored, and I need something to look forward to.

Its good, nothing amazing but definitely a fun game.
Don't really know what more to say, you jump into the city from parachute(quite openended) and then just complete objectives in your own order, its very immersive imo.

They took mine away. ;( It worked fine at the time, but now there's nothing under my subscriptions anymore. Looks like they clocked on to me at least.

the new vids at ign look pretty nice, a.i seems to be solid, retreating, advancing, using cover etc, nice to see they included the awesome 'arnhem' theme from MOH: Frontlines.

Just finished the DEMO. The game is nothing special. The AI to me seemed alittle dumb, they would just sit there sometimes and wait to get shot up. They even aimed at me through walls, like they had wallhack. This isn't really a "next gen" experience. You can't even destroy objects like pots and grates. Not like thats a big deal, but you just expect this in games now. Also, you can't move in ironsight. That was annoying.

Yes you can.

This demo gets the Official Shakermaker Seal of Approval™. I have always been a fan of the series, but the love wained after Pacific Assault. Going freeform really takes it to the next level. Getting this at release. Can't wait actually.

that's all the endorsement i needed ../me downloads

thanks shaker

No problem.

You'll like the fact that you can go wherever you want. And you will have to think 3D because most buildings can be entered and roofs can be scaled. You can take the slow approach and start high. Take down everyone in sight with your Garand. Or go CQB and just spray and pray with your Thompson. Toss in a couple of grenades and it's quite the spectacle.

You will also like the emphasis on cover. You can lean left and right, but only when you have iron sights on. It's a real nice mechanic and since there are a lot of walls, sandbags, etc you can use it a lot. This is no military simulation by a long shot, but it's a lot of fun. I also bought Bioshock today but I didn't get around to installing it yet :D

from what i played i would give it 8.9/10.

great game, I would buy it only for the SP mod, can't wait for COD4 this is the real deal.

Crashes while loading first level after briefing and equipment select.

Seriously, what's up with UE3 and my computer?

You can? Well they didn't make it ovbious. When i went into ironsight i called only peek left and right, couldn't move forward or backwards.

Using the sprint button lets you walk around while in ironsights.

The one little problem I have with iron sights is there is no option that I saw to make ironsights toggled on/off instead of on as long as the button is pressed.

Does anyone know if there's an option to turn on AA in the demo? Or do I have to do it in the video card settings?

Was very "miss" to me... At first it appeared non-linear, the starting position is nonlinear anyway, but after that there aren't a whole lot of routes to the objectives. Lots of artificial barricades (but that could be just shoddy mapping.

The aiming system was more than a little frustrating. AI was poor. And maybe it was just me, but it seemed like my allies became ****ing super-soldiers the instant I left them alone. For example, they were pinned down in a street by lots of guys and an MG emplacement. The first time I stuck with them, they got pwnt, I eventually died. (It is quite hard to die on normal). Second time, same situation, I flanked and got up to the area the objective was, past the MG. Nobody on my team followed me through the house (I was already suspicious of their super-powers so I checked behind me), but a few seconds later bam, they had cleared the mg and were pinning people down on my flank. :|. Then again, you're a super-soldier too if you win a little medal you get slow-mo, and there are probably other similar things as well.

If you don't believe THAT, how bout this one: There is a large, axis-HQ sort of mansion, with two objectives on the roof. When I was outside looking for a way in, everyone was getting raped by MGs and suchlike. When I flanked, AGAIN WITHOUT ANY HELP from allies, and got inside, instantly they somehow got past the killing field, walked up to the front door, and were inside with me shooting italians up.

Reinforcements come out of nowhere in neat little groups ("they came from the sky") so you have infinite support...

And it seemed all "rifles" and all "smgs" share the same ammo. Wtf realism?

As well, all the random voice chatter by my team seemed to worship me as the best thing since sliced bread. I mean really, would ALL the soldiers I randomly encounter know/like me...

Graphics were nothing special, and glitchy at times (yes I know it's a demo).

I'm pretty sure I accomplished every objective myself and largely without aid. Only I set explosives, only I cleared the objectives. I'm sick of being a super-soldier, developers. I want to be just another guy in a war, not the second coming of Sgt. Christ.

/rant.

I'll wait for... well nothing, I'm kind of sick of WW2 FPS's tbh.

Pretty much answers all my questions I wanted to ask about this game.
But how is are the guns? are they realistic damage wise or do I need to pump 15 bullets into someones chest to kill him?

From your story it looks like the open-endness (sp?) is just a illusion created by loads of scripts.

You need to pump them full of bullets before they go down and the ragdoll physics are horrible.

I'll still be buying the game, maybe once i've finished playing the better games that are coming out. I really digged the land anywhere aproach to the game.

Yeah, all guns (including rifles) required excessive damage to kill...

Grenades came off as more or less trash, also. Had to throw two to reliably clear a room (one short, one far)

Grenades are useless in most sp fps games. Unless you throw one that lands right at there feet. Grenades seem to work better online.
