Money Making Advice?

What are some alternative ways for a 17 year old to make money? I have my working papers and have applied to almost every place I could within my county, and no one has called me back. I live in the middle of nowhere so everyone mows there own lawns and a paper route is out of the question. I tried working for my parents but they wouldn't go for that. Basically anything that involves me going around asking people if I could babysit or pet sit or anything like that is impossible because as I said, I live in the middle of nowhere. So if anyone has experience or ideas I would really appreciate it!

What sort of weather do you have? If the weather is alright, you can go find a job painting houses. It will pay probably 13 bucks an hour.

Do I know how to make things?? Do I destroy things?? whatever your good at go with it. and remember every step you take is a learning experience. you'll get your foot in the door and either shut it behind you or you'll open a new door or window to something greater

This is so true. I got my first job from my Work experience when I was about 15 and it was at an outdoor clothing store. I then finished up there and did a years work at Sainsburys shelf stacking when I was 16, then went to College and worked at a Garden Centre part-time for a whole month (it was THAT shit). Once finished with College I got a Tech position at a server hosting company called RapidSwitch, been with them for nearly 3 years now.

Just about knowing what you're good at, what you want to do and how to go about doing it. If all else fails you can always fall back to prostitution.

Anyway, I feel for you Captain, I'm 20, all I've had is various internships, not a single real job, the few times I've been called back it's "I am sorry but we went with someone with more experience on their shoulders" and shit.

Unemployment here in my part of my capital is at it's all-time highest for youths, even though it's one of the more centralized and more "popular/fly/cool" parts of Stockholm.

Personally I'm waiting for the Matrix(the Shadowrun one, not the movie one) to become realized so I can become a decker and hack corps for profits!

Also, yes, I did just make a post in a thread about helping another person whining about my own problems, aren't I just terrible?

There are a few things you can do online like writing articles , designing websites , data entry etc. it doesn't pay that well but its accessible.

I dunno, when I was younger I did lots of yard work. You mentioned that was right out so I don't have anything to offer you. At 17 you can get those jobs no one wants like fast food. Your best bet is to be at a grocery store or wal-mart so you'll hate it less and smell better.

Learn basic web design and advertise on craigslist. You could learn the basics of wordpress in under an hour and still produce attractive results.
