Moon - Trailer

That's......weird....

I have yet to see Sunshine yet. I really gotta pick it up.

About time we had another sci-fi movie. It's unfortunate that it seems psychological though. No way anyone would go crazy in 3 years.

Your kidding about not going crazy in 3 years?

Looks pretty cool. Will be going to see that one, methinks.

No, its a very stupid statement, even if you don't go fully crazy, you'll go crazy to a degree.
To a degree, meaning not hallucinating nonsense. Your social skills would take a hit which would lead to some other mental issues, but no way would you go crazy.

Wake up.

HAL is the most stolen concept in all cinema, but it still looks decent. The actor doesn't look like the sharpest knife in the drawer, though.

Interesting. I hate it when the trailer practically shows the whole movie though.

Hmmm, it kinda looks like a spinoff of Solaris? Kind of less interesting, but I wanna see it.

Interesting, worth it just to see the set design :p
But it is intriguing...

I've been wanting to see this for a while. It's had very good buzz from the film festivals it's been shown at.

How is it a rip-off of HAL? Because it's a vaguely-sentient robot that talks to a lonely man in space?

Doesn't look that way to me. I predict that the robot is a villain only in Sam's mind.

I assume you've personally lived alone on the moon for for three years just so you could have the factual backing to criticize a science fiction film on it's faults, right?

You underestimate the effects of seclusion, which by itself can result in severe depression. Couple that with abnormal surroundings and high stress over a period of years and it could really take a toll on a person's mental stability. Also note that everyone will react differently to stressful conditions, and while one person may be completely fine in seclusion, it may not be the case for someone else. Research is still being conducted on this very topic, as it is a major concern if we ever hope to reach Mars.

I don't like humans, send me to the moon. Of Endor.

Looks good. I ****ing love sci fi. Also Sunshine is one of my favorite sci fi films ever and definitely with regards to recent ones.

I don't think you know how easy a mind can break if they're isolated for a long while, and that degree is usually different for each person, a man can not live on messages from the looking glass alone.

People need the little things, a pat on the shoulder, a hand shake, small talk one to one & etc.

A mind will warp without them, I've seen it personally.

This looks really good. Sam Rockwell is a pretty good actor, and isn't in enough movies.

Look interesting but his next project sounds intriguing:

"It looks like I'm going to be doing another science-fiction film next. I love Blade Runner, it's one of my favorite films, and I've always been really… depressed that there was never—not a sequel, because I don't think it's right to make a sequel about Blade Runner, but no one's really tried to make a film which was set in the same kind of world or had that same kind of feel. So that's what I'm doing, a big-city mystery story that takes place in a future Berlin."

Also, I don't understand how anyone can't see the 2001 influence.

You didn't read through this thread did you? It's been mentioned.

As for the movie, it does seem in the same style as Sunshine, Solaris etc.
Which means it's not my cup of tea...

i love sci-fi films that make you THINK. ala cube...hopefully this will be a bit different

I can't see the attraction, this film looks really mediocre from the 3 videos I've watched in this thread. What am I missing?

It just looks a human story, one of those "stop & stare" movies, it looks like an interesting story.
