anyone notice that the bandwidth of valves steam servers is getting higher everyday. perhaps they are preparing for something, perhaps, a *cough* release.... please dont flame me, im sensitive

Actually, yes it's increasing.

Valve have already said that they had a few content servers in line to be added. Looks like they're on it already.

If HL2 is delayed now this close to expected release I will definately be looking elsewhere to get my copy of the game as I would no longer want to support Valve

Droper, if they are smart, they will separate some servers and dedicated them to the task of patching, authentication etc. It would be foolish to use the same servers that serve up CS, DOD, etc.
