I've been looking through the cache files and I've found these three sound files. They're from the section in BME where Alyx stops outside the Ravensholm tunnel and says how they don't go there any more. If you're wondering why she stops for so long, these are probably supposed to be playing. It's interesting that they managed to get a whole town out there at one point. Perhaps the combine hasn't always been this powerful?

hmm i replayed that three times to try and get the audio haha, she kindof says 'a' and then stops and keeps going, was real frustratin for me :( lol damn, i thought there would be more to that audio file =\ oh well.

you're right ... I was also wondering why she'd stopped for so long and said nothing ...

I don't get those files to work. What program shall I use to play them?

I can't think of a program that doesn't play .wav files. Are you sure you're loading it up in some form of media player?

When she stops talking, walk past her and down the tunnel to Ravenholm. She follows, telling you that the town had tried to escape something or other, and that it is closed off for a reason.

That's why she pauses, she's waiting for you to be curious.

Yeah, walk down the tunnel and she says that. I heard them on my second play through. It does explain a lot.

the sound files say:

"We used to be able to go right up there to Ravenholm"

"It was an old mining town inhabited by some escapees (?) from City 17"

"*sigh* Believe me, that tunnel sealed for a reason"

I've tried Windows Media Player, Real Player, Jukebox and DivX. None worked.

If you go down the hall towards the door, after she says dont go there: 'that;s the passage to Ravenholm', then you get the speech.

I didn't get it the first time I played, because I was following her.

It's not wav, it's the rar packer. I hate that damn thing. Just winzip with another name and another program you have to download.

Its a RAR file, first unrar it with winrar or something like that and then you ll be able to play it in WMP or Winamp or whatever :)
