More Problems, I think I need to upgrade...

Ok well i heard people getting very good pings etc, yet my ping hardly eva breaks the red barrier of 25fps sometimes making it to 30, but dropping very low...

Am set all the graphically settings to lowest and closed all background programs...

I have

2.4 ghz intel pentium 4
785 mbs DDR ram
128 Mb 9200 Ati Radieon (DX8 Hardware with DX9 Software)

Please advise

Okay, first of all. Ping is the latency time between you and the server. FPS or Frames Per Second, which I think you are talking about, is how many times your screen refreshes in a second. If you have the money you should upgrade your Video Card. But plz dont try to do it yourself. Since you dont know the difference between Ping and FPS.

get a radeon 9800pro or a vanilla geforce 6800 and you'll be set.

I'm guessing you mean FPS and not ping. You probably need to get a new videocard. I would advice the Radeon 9800 or the X800 series.

I know someone who has a Radeon 9200 SE, runs 40 FPS normal....

it really depends on the environment, the thing. on a 32 player server your framerate dramatically drops.

-and what cpu does someone have?
-was he by himself on the server.

768 maybe. 785 doesn't exist.
Therefore I bet he only has 256 or 512 and he is lying about the rest.

Almost the same as my system here and I don't think I run that few FPS. I turned shadows and model detail down. I'll check next time I'm on but my next thing to buy is a good dx9 card, after that another 512 ram.

calm down, lol. he probably means 768. and sometimes the readout can be messed up depending on the hardware.

I've seen multiple times on 98 and Win2k systems the RAM readings bet messed up because the OS automaticly sets so much RAM aside.

If i was lying about any of the specs, i'd be struggling to get into any game to load anything, mines just about reach minimum standard i think...and ye i was wrong bout the RAM...by 20 or something!
