Who doesn't want more TF2 promos? The Pyro Axe does look pretty rad though.

Scout weapon is pretty meh. Apparently there'll be a new achievement in TF2 that gives you a code when you unlock the hat in Rift.

What happened to the concept of keeping the TF2 items themed (even if slightly) through the contribute system? This stuff couldn't look more out of place.

Please keep your gay MMO shit out of my TF2.
Well not quite what Shakespeare would have said...but I guess I'm in partial agreement.

Shrift you'd tax mine Team's Fortress the Second with your knave-loving Games of Roleplay!? Prithee an end to this madness!

This is what I hate about the updates the TF2 updates as of late. There isn't even an effort to disguise the fact that the visual and gameplay designs of the classes don't even remotely resemble their original selves.

Why so tough on the latest updates to Hats Online? It appears they are rewarding users properly with a plethora of diverse and lovable hats!

The medieval update was the final string being cut between maintaining the class character. I don't really mind the concept of sub-classes to shake up gameplay a little but just shoehorning in stuff just because their heart was set on going medieval doesn't make any sense to me.

Also...as if we need more reskins of the stock weapons? All the Sam & Max, Poker Night, Killing Floor. Most people dislike the fact there are too many weapon varieties (I'm just about ok with them) but more weapon reskins is tediously dull and pointless.

Can server ops force a vanilla mode of sorts? Or does my memory serve me poorly.

edit: to be honest, TF2 lost me with the materials, crates, crafting, sub-classing, cross-promoting blitz almost a year ago. I don't even know what the game is like anymore. Gonna try a game now.

That was about as fun as pulling teeth. Though sitting around trolling with the bow/sniper combo is fun. Gotta love pinning someone to the wall in 2fort. The pay for item MMO elements really turn me off, as the vgcats is spot-on there.

It is worth clarifying those items are all obtainable via crafting / trading and provide alternative abilities rather than upgrades (we can argue semantics over this...I'd rather not). The polycount packs are craftable too, so there is not 'pay for advantage' option either.

The new mechanics in TF2 make it a different game to how you may remember...therefore if you go in with an expectation of old times you will end up being disappointed. For people who have followed it or caught up and learned it all, it can be very fun indeed. Otherwise you can be lost in a sea of chaos and the outright bizarre. Also, on a decent server (vanilla respawn) the skill levels are quite high.

Like I said earlier, I don't necessarily have an issue with the current weapon varieties, there is a lot and there shouldn't be any / many more. What I do have a problem with is arbitrary promotional reskins which bring nothing but % sale referrals while complicating the game further for newer players who don't know what these weapons are or putting off those who are trying to keep their head above water by religiously learning them all.

It almost feels like the whipping boy now. No doubt Portal 2 promotional material will seep in somewhere.

My only big problem with TF2 right now is the lack of optimization. Valve say they're working on more LOD models, I just hope they can get that done within a few months. My other complaints are minor (some paint schemes are terrible, the paint colours aren't neutral).

I don't give two shits about the Mann Co. Store.

Ok, what the flying ****?! The weapons have unique stats and will be added to the crafting system after RIFT launches. Which means people who pre-order RIFT get these weapons WITH UNIQUE STATS for a month before everyone else. WHAT THE HELL?

At least the Scout one looks useless, but the Pyro one apparently causes INFINITE AFTERBURN ON HIT. Seriously I want this for medieval mode but it's not available till the end of the month for me it seems.

I have no problem with the store. I have no problem with unique items. Holding out items from the general playerbase for a month? WHAT. THE. ****.

The game just gets uglier and uglier and uglier. Jesus Christ, does style mean nothing to Valve any more? Why lava shit? It's just ruining it more.

I quite like the axe. The bat is meh. I really don't think any of the weapons class much with the style except for maybe the candy cane. Everything else is pretty much fine by me. Some of the hats, not so much (especially when painted).

Enough with the god damn items, Valve.

The gameplay is still fun, especially if the team is working together, and to Valve's credit, the game is still quite balanced with all these new items (at least I haven't noticed anything other than the fact that engineer rushes on defense are almost always successful). If you're still down for playing, look me up.

Agreed - until the candy cane came out, the huge variety of weapons still "matched" thematically. Valve seems to listen to their fan base, and I wonder if there are hordes of people somewhere who are raving for more content?
