most moving movie you've seen

Schindler's List certainly qualifies as one of my top five. Saving Private Ryan as well.

I also cried when Arnie lowered himself into the molten steel at the end of T2, but that was when I was a wee lad.

schindlers list goes without saying....

saving private ryan aswell, the straight story and for some reason me mind's gone blank. can't remember much else

I remember ET as being a very teary movie, but I was only 4 when I saw it. Maybe i'll watch it again sometime.

Schindlers list is certainly very moving and stands head and shoulders above the rest.

I don't know if you've ever seen Murals wedding, it's really funny but really moving because it pokes fun at the central character. I don’t know maybe I am just getting soppy, but I was actually moved by it.

Schindler's List and The Shawshank Redemption made me cry recently. It's really between those two as to the most moving, for me.

Blow - The saddest ending ever to a movie.

I watched Blow but I don't remember the end at all so it couldn't have been that bad.

edit: oh wait, yeah that was sad.

American Beauty was extremely sad at the end but I only just watched it last night. Saving Private Ryan and American History X I think are the two biggest.

American Beauty
American History X
Schindler's List
Saving Private Ryan
The Big Red One
....Titanic....>_<

Has anyone seen 'Dad' with Ted Danson and Jack Lemon? I watched it quite a few years ago with my Grandad and, suprisingly, I was very moved by the end.

I also agree about Schindler's List - superb film - and would like to add Hotel Rwanda. I spoke to someone who lived through the genocide the other week and he recommended the film, saying it was very accurate. I watched it tonight and was rather shocked - both by the attrocities, and by how oblivious I was to the extent of them when it took place. There's a particulalry poignant scene in which a US reporter, after filming 100's of civilians getting cut up by machetes, tells the protagonist that people in the West will watch the massacre on the news, think 'oh, that's horrible', then carry on eating dinner. I remember doing that .... which made the movie all the more powerful.

sweet i got hotel rwanda in my living room.. my family is black i heard it twas good.
but they think movies like 2 fast 2 furious are amazing..

anyways id say grave of the fireflies anime movie and i read a really sad book the five people you met in heaven by mitch abum? i guess if that counts.

Schindler's list and Saving Private Ryan are certainly up there. However I know I have been moved more by different movies but I for the life of me can't remember what they may have been.

Schindler's List, and Black Hawk Down. I jsut saw the latter one yesterday and wow, what a movie.

Schindlers List hands down for sure.

Runners Up:

Shawshank Redemption
Black Hawk Down
Saving Private Ryan
Fight Club (yes)
Ray
Man on Fire

Amelie
Requiem for a Dream (more depressing, but hey)
Grave of the Fireflies

All I can think of right now. Sometimes TV does it to me too. "The Body" on Buffy the Vampire Slayer gets me everytime...

I only ever cried to Ladder 49, nothing else, maybe thats just me, the heartless barsted :dozey:

A.I. makes me cry every time I see it, and I know how it ends! The first time I saw Frankenstein with Robert Deniro, I was very moved - elated, depressed, angry, ecstatic, despondent, from one end of the scale to the other. I was exhausted when it was over.

Tae Guek Gi. (Or brotherhood of war in some places)

And Saving Private Ryan. I actually cried at the end.

One flew over the cockoo's nest
Jesus Christ superstar
Casualties of War( I cried my freaking ass of, for two hours after the movie had ended)
Falling Down
Beauty and the beast.

I Am Sam - Sean Penn as the mentally disabled bloke trying to keep custody of his child.

Lately - Finding Neverland when...
Kate Winslet's character is in the stages of dying. Babes like her should never die. SHE DIDN'T EVEN KISS DEPP BEFORE SHE DIED.

Shawshank Redemption
The Thin Red Line
Saving Private Ryan. My friend's Grandad was on Omaha beach (not sure what sector) and he says that was pretty accurate.
Oldboy (I think it was the music that did it)

I'll add more as I think of them

- Taegukgi hwinalrimyeo (Brotherhood Of War) ... I've never actually cried watching a movie but this movie was very sad at some points, especially the ending.

- The Thin Red Line

- The Shawshank Redemption

Titanic, cried for most of the second half, it was terrible, just so god damn bad i couldn't help myself:p

But seriously, only two films can make me cry every time i watch them...

"The Green Mile" and "Dragonheart" <-- don't ask:p

Saving Private Ryan,
And the end of Gladiator. Couldn't help but shed a tear :(

"most moving movie you've seen"

imax films...doesnt the film run at high speed ;)

uhh I guess ..Life is Beautiful ..that ending was horrible

Shindlers List
Saving Private Ryan
Titanic...

What is Shindlers list,
I think I might watch it.
Mine would be The Green Mile :*(
and The Pianist :******(

Mine would be

Shawshank
and
Garden State--Got me right here***thumps general area of heart**

Shawshank was good.
Terminator 2 was very sad :*(

Oh yeah, glaidator was another that was very sad. I think it was the music combined with the general story. Also kingdom of heaven had a very good ending that shead a new light on the crusades.

That movie was actually quite innacurate, but very entertaining.

Grave of the Fireflies - watched it with my bro and we were both crying.. it's just so damn sad, the kids in there don;t deserve what happens to them

Also, A Walk to Remember - I couldn't hold back the tears when Mandy Moore finally said she was dying of cancer
And Simon Birch - don;t remember why it made me cry, but it did

Almost forgot, Philadelphia.

I've honestly never cried at a movie, although I sort of wish I could. Philadelphia made a lump in my throat, and my voice a little shaky.

Star Wars Episode III Revenge Of The Sith

Most people say this film is shit haha, but not for me, its the best movie ive seen and ever will see. D:
