What do you think?

My vote goes to the key between the windows key and the Ctrl key on the right of the spacebar. I had never before touched it until today when I did to figure out what it did.

Honorary mentions: Pause/Break, Insert, Home, End.

I'm going to have to say the second enter button on the right of the keyboard, we've already got one. And that button above the inset button, whatver the hell that does.

you mean the one that says "print screen" and takes a screenshot...?

My vote goes to scroll lock. It doesn't even do anything.

.

Heh, I didnt know it did that, because someone has torn that button out of my keyboard

I don't think I've ever pressed Alt Gr. I shall do it now.

I use that enter all the time when inputting numerical values.

edit:I say Number Lock.

Look what happens if you have it off, you get a double set of "pagedown, end, etc etc" Why would you need two sets? Why not just have them always function as numbers, it's a pain to start pressing numbers and realize nothings being typed.

The function button on my keyboard that adds little shortcuts to my F keys when I hold it down and hit one of them, I've had the keyboard for 2 years and never used it, either that key or scroll lock

the three buttons on they very top of the arrow keys (Power, Sleep, and Wake Up)

Definitely scroll lock. Or the weird button between rightictrl and right-windows.

Yeah useless isn't it :|

Pause/Break is for games, and those other three buttons are used by me extensively in almost every game (I use arrow keys not WASD).
Binding a grenade throw to "Delete" is funny.

My vote goes to scroll lock. I have no clue on what it does.

I got useless multimedia buttons, but I guess they don't count. Also I got an F,, button?! Wtf is that? It's on the opposit side of the esc, above the little minus on the right.

Edit: here

The windows key is the most annoying, but I agree with scroll lock for most useless.

It's basicaly the same as right-clicking I think.

i'd say the tabs on the bottom of the keyboard... LOL honestly, I'd say the pause break key... or the windows key, cuz honestly I've only used that key twice intentionaly, tons of times unintentionally.

:D

But now that you guys mention it, I think i'll bind that set of keys right up above the numpad for weapon selections and junk.

Seems really usefull now that I think of it.

I mean, it's this little home of keys, impossible to press the wrong button on accident, and you've got nine at your disposal.

:)

Oh, and I don't quite think any keys are useless. Some days I won't touch my mouse at all (whether it's charging and i'm just browsing the web, or playing a game of Civ4, where the mouse just gets annoying) and nearly every key ends up used.

I DONT KNO BUT CAPS LOCK IS DEF MY FAV LOLOLOL!!!!!!

Actually, I'd vote for "End," the most. What's it do? The windows key and the other one with the little menu on it also suck. I never use pg up and pg dn, but I know people do, so I won't be with the hatin.

Scroll Lock, Alt Gr, and the one between Windows and Right Ctrl.

Use Paue/Break in games, or to end a program in VB when it goes tits up

I use home and end keys a lot to get from the top and bottom of internet pages. also when my old keyboard had a sleep button on it I used it a lot to get myself out of a program lockup without having to hard reset.

Insert typically enables over-write, which as we all know is a work of the devil. Death to over-write. Honestly, what was the sodding point to it?

I use scroll lock for xfire... so its not useless. I think the only key I NEVER use is Alt Gr... I think only pirates may use that key because it has the word "GR" in it. :)

I hate the windows key :| POS keeps alt-tabbing me out whenever I need to press Alt. :(

Hmm. My keyboard has several useless keys... I have never pressed Scroll Lock, Pause/Break, Num Lock, nor this key between the right Windows key and the right CTRL; and I hate Caps Lock with a burning passion. The grave/tilde and backslash/pipe keys are pretty much useless (only coders need a backslash...).

Just what i though after posting! About Scroll Lock that is...not too sure on the pirate analogy :rolling:

€€€€€€€

:bounce:

Re-learned how to get that! €€€

Damn € being such a crap currency requiring AltGr to get it displayed!

In BF2? PageDown.

Overall: the key between the right winkey and right Ctrl.

Wait, which one punishes?

*Punishes Unfocused for no reason*

:p

Oh, sorry about jumpin in the way of your jet earlier mate, thought it was the bomber with a spare seat for me :frown:

Most people don't use the windows key because they don't know what it does..

Windows + M minimizes all windows, i use this all the time
Windows + L switches users
Windows + E opens explorer
Windows + R opens the "run" box

I'm sure there are plenty more shortcuts, but those are the only ones I know/use

edit: Full List

e2: You know what, there are a lot of interesting shortcuts that I didn't know about..

Hold SHIFT while inserting a CD - Prevents the CD from "autorunning"

If an item is selected:

CTRL while dragging a file - Copies the file

CTRL - SHIFT while dragging a file - Creates a shortcut to the file

SHIFT - DELETE - Deletes an item without sending it to the recycle bin.

ALT-ENTER - Display a file's properties.

The Esc key.

Who really ever uses that? Pfft.

Funny story:

My brother (bryanf445) spilled a glass of coke on my old keyboard and I had to buy a new one. Now my F1-F12 keys will not work in any of my games. This new keyboard cost $20 and he has yet to pay me back. I just thought I would share this keyboard related story here.

Another useless key: € (What the hell is this thing anyway?)
