C*nt. Bitch. F*ck. Ass. Shit.
Goddamnit. Tell me if you think this is fair.
My Xbox has been in for repairs twice in the last month or so for the same problem - the fan's been running unusually fast and loud, which of course indicates that the machine was running hot for some reason. Last week I got it back again, and almost immediately after turning it on it was still doing the exact same thing. However, this time I left it running for awhile to see what happened, and after maybe half an hour I got this - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/907533
Now, the last time I had it sent away I was told that if it still wasn't fixed this time, I'd be getting a replacement. Fair enough, I thought, atleast it will finally be over with (for a while, atleast). Also, for frame of reference, I've already had one replacement due to a faulty disc drive and had it sent away twice for RRoD before, so needless to say I'm pretty ****ing sick of having to deal with it.
Anyway, so I call up the place I got it from (it's under extended warranty so I go through them instead of MS now). I explain to them, perhaps somewhat foolishly, that not only is the problem reoccuring (ie - the fan's still really ****ing noisy), that it's now happening to the point where it shuts off and the system says it's overheating. Oh, he says, we'll just have to talk to our repair person and see what they think. So I wait. I'm put onto someone else who doesn't seem to know anything about it and isn't much help at all. I'm put back onto the original person (wtf?). Now, he says, as far as they're concerned this is an entirely seperate problem and needs to be sent away for repair again, as they weren't aware of this last time.
WHAT.
Now at this stage I'm fuming just a little bit, but I really don't like bitching at sales people, so I try to explain to him, calmly, that I was promised a replacement if the problem reoccured, and that as far as I'm concerned this is the same problem. Anything else that's happened is just a direct result of that and would've been fixed if the repair place had done their ****ing job the first two times. No dice, it needs to be sent away and "re-examined". ****.
So yeah. Somewhat pissed right now.
Thoughts?
