I feel like a douchbag right now. I have no clue what to get my mom besides the chocolate/flower routine. She needs a treadmill because she no longer uses the bikepath (we live 2 miles from where a woman was killed by the infamous "bike path rapist") but that is outside of my budget i want to spend. I'm looking for $30-70 gift ideas here

But if anyone has suggestions or can you share what you usually buy your mother...it would be greatly appreciated

You shouldn't have to get her anything more than a card and a hug.

You could always be lame and get her a gift card for her favorite store (or something generic like Walmart if you want to be uber lame).

giftcards are good, but I need something original. my friend said i should draw something like i would if i were in 2nd grade. it made me laugh but no one has good suggestions anymore :(

Chastity belt.

Let her start cycling again.

Well i know i'll be in my school's workshop taking Plastic Acryllic and making hearts with a scrollsaw

I'm giving my mom a FM transmitter, so she can listen to music from her USB stick while driving.

You should be able to get one with 2.5mm plug+USB+SD for $10-20 now. There are big differences in sound quality, so I recommend you to read reviews before buying one.

You're a-peeling, let's never split!

I don't live anywhere near my mother. Ever since I was a toddler, I have lived apart from my mom because of what happened when I was young and she had to go to a mental care facility.

For some of her birthdays or mothers day I used to send her updated photos of me and my brother. We would call her and talk to her... which was always short since she doesn't seem to want to talk for very long(doesn't have much to say).

One time we had bought and sent her a Recorder(music instrument), which is her favorite instrument and she didn't have one at the time.

Really though, I don't know. Just enjoy spending time with her. I haven't been able to know my mom very well my entire life, so you could simply enjoy spending time with her. Make her dinner, take her out for dinner. Maybe go to a movie you'd both enjoy. Let her know that you appreciate her and I am sure she will love it.

I honestly usually don't get things for my parents because I don't have money, which makes me feel really bad, and there's only so many times you can make someone something. But now that I have a job I've been trying.

I got my mom this photography book by Arne Svenson because she likes sock monkeys.

I've never gotten my mother a gift. I call her, tell her happy day and that's about it. Living a good distance makes it impossible for physical interaction!

Make a confession to your mum in which you state that you raped and murdered that girl and that you never had any plans to do the same to her, your own mother, and that she's perfectly safe using the bike path.

Jewellery and perfume are always safe bets.

no. actually they're the worst gifts ever because they're both veryt personal ..go check in your moms bedroom for any bottles of perfume you may have given her in the past. they're full arent they?

"this one makes my eyes water"

"this one makes me smell like a cheap whore"

"this one makes me break out in a rash"

:E

to OP; a gift isnt mandatory however get her something she'd appreicate like a day at the spa/racy lingerie

Screw mother's day its on my damn birthday. I'm just going to get my mom some of her favorite flowers

Give her a set of cookbooks and a laundry basket.

I actually bought a cookbook I forgot about, but I'm keeping that for when I move out. But I'm going to buy her a giftcard to Barns and Noble which is a major bookstore here in the US. don't know if its international or not

Mother's Day fell on my father's birthday last year which sucked.

I mailed my mom a necklace today. Probably the nicest thing I've gotten her for Mother's day. I feel accomplished.

Yay juggling finances with college.

in addition to the gift card i just got her, I'm going to buy some flowers from work on Sat night...then I'll drop them off near the door and tell her to look outside

My sisters and I are getting our mother a gargoyle statue for the garden.

Go figure.

Oh god damn it. I forgot about mother's day. I was out and I forgot to get something because I forgot to write it on the list that I ended up forgetting.

You could just tell your mom that you love her and get away from materialism.

Last year I gave her $170 pair of Royal Doultons, that is going to be hard to top this year :<

My gift is somewhere in the hands of the USPS... hoping it makes the deadline!
