My mouse is starting to 'lag'. I thought it was the ball that was dirty at first, so i cleaned it all nice but it still lagged. I noticed it seemed to happen when i was at 'busy' parts in CoD (which didnt help my health that much) so i thought it could be something software related. Now its doing it all the time, just stopping where it is and then catching up 2-4 seconds later :(

It's really quite annoying, any suggestions will be gladly recieved :)

Just to exclude a factor. Does anything else freeze, what´s the cpu usage when it happens and/or is the harddisk rattling when this happens?

I have a similar problem, where when I minimize something or something similar to that, my mouse will start to skip, big time. My CPU usage goes to 100% and a little orange light on my comp case turns on (I'm pretty sure that means the hard drive is being used). Any idea what this could be? I've scanned for viruses and I ran adaware, but nothing came up, except for on adaware but removing everything didn't fix it. Any ideas???

I think that you don't have sufficient memory and then the computer will make use of the swapfile on your harddrive that slows everything else down.

A) You could buy extra memory
B) Make an extra partition for swap exclusively and make the size as efficient as possible so it doesn't get fragmented.

For now clean the harddrive for files you don't use and defrag your harddisk and see if it has any effect...

I do probably need to defrag, I'll do that tonight, thanks.
I should have PLENTY of memory though, I have 1gb of PC2100 DDR.
Thanks for the advice though.

Defragging didn't fix :(
If you're asking me, I'm using PS2.

Ah ok, i've had that problem with my USB mouse pretty bad when i hook it up to a lap top, while a PS/2 mouse wouldn't take any sort of hit. I dunno, maybe it's a problem with your motherboard? Just a complete shot in the dark.

You might wanna test a new mouse on it.

For me, it's not the mouse, because my CPU usage goes up to 100% when this happens, and something starts using my hard drive heavily. I still can't figure out what's happening, no odd processes are running...

Try re-installing the Mouse drivers or mobo drivers to see if that fixes it, or roll back to when you diddn't have this problem.
