OK so I was working on this map for about a week and the file got destroyed because of a power outage. Gee was I pissed. Not too bad though cause I remember everything I put and half the battle the first time around was trying to get more familiar with hammer and all that nonsense. One thing I put in there was a swinging light which i learned how to create because of a so called "snarkpit.org" - a site that was shut down for some reason just recently. Now, I have no idea how to create the swinging light and barely remember what entities I used to build it in the first place. However, when it came to figuring out what setting I used on which entity and who is whos parent, I became even more troubled. I did my best to create a swinging light based on what I remember and with the aid of some half-assed tutorial I found on a different site. I ended up making a hanging light that will not swing; regardless of how much ammunition or explosives I unload on it. If someone would please help me get back on the right track on how to properly create this swinging light, it would be greatly appreciated. Btw the entities I used were the prop physics override, the move rope, the keyframe rope, and the phys constraint.

yeah, snarkpit is a good place

however, try checking out this vt

well, if you used a phys_constraint, that would explain it... you need a phys_length_constraint (or possibly phys_ballsocket or whatever). a phys_constraint holds things in a particular world position.
