How is Bittorrent not P2P?

i said P2P LIKE Kazaa.

of course BT is a P2P software, but it's a much better one. And there is an upstream throttle, just get a beter client. I can have 10 up and 200 down half the time!
(Especially useful for missed TV Eps!)

I think the only reason people d/l easily available movies from the net is because it makes them feel all leet and shit.

Err no, they download them because it's free. And you get to keep it.

As for the main topic, I don't think this is gonna get anywhere. Sure they'll sue a few people (maybe more than just a few), but you can't stop pirates, you really can't.

Just a guess here...but isn't pirating movies and music just like pirating old snes, nes, sega, etc roms? It's illegal unless you own the game (unless your distributing it). Couldn't you just buy the movie (assuming it's out on dvd) if you thought you were gonna get in trouble?

Hell..I've d/led a few movies I have because my DVD player broke and I really wanted to see them at the time.

I also think it's rediculus that they're saying they'll bust you for like $30,000. If anything I'd send them a check in the mail for $8.50 or the price of the dvd in a store. That's all they deserve...bastards.

I have several hundred CDs and Vinyl albums, along with about 100 DVDs of my favourate films.

I think that entitles me to download films and other things that I wouldn't consider good enough to pay for every so often, with a clean concience.
