doesn't AA smooth out jaggies on edges? like on his ears, for example? shouldnt his neck be one continous model with no edges that need smoothing?...

those type of artifacts usually occur where a wall and floor meet, or where two brushes meet in some CS/HL maps.

They didn't turn AA on. That's all.errr, I'm not convinced that it makes that white line without aa on; I think it's just a polygonal problem that would have to be fixed internally, so no big deal

Yes. Do a search for anti aliasing on Google to see how it works.

It might be a polygonal problem, but if AA was on it would be impossible to notice.

heh, i know how it works, and unless its two seperate models glued together then AA shouldn't fix the white line on his neck.

I think it might be two separate models (or something of that sort, I'm no expert on modelling).

uh............ok.:stare:

omg... anyone have any idea why Steam uses 96% of CPU cycles? I mean, for what?

I dabble a little in modeling, and that will most likely be fixed. it could be fixed in 10 minutes. well depending on how complex the neck area is.

Yeah the tearing in the neck area is minor, and probably easily fixed. The game isn't done.

I'm just amazed by the eyes and facial expressions... still the speaking while the best I've ever seen still not what it looks like in real life, not what it was described as in magazines... Oh well it still looks damn good.

who cares? cartoons dont always have the best lip sync, and people dont ............dont like them becasue of it either. this guy is a trolling retard wonder.

grrr, anyone know how long the damn "Preparing to launch window..." sits before showing a progress bar? I mean it's dlin', just takes forever to see the status...

My god steam is such a piece of shit...
For some reason even after I downloaded the movie and deleted it it still left a 400 meg cache. I'll just get the rest of the movies from http's, not going to abuse my poor PC by infesting it with the evil which is steam. ;p

after im done d/ling the vid steam says its still updating it. whats happenin

I know, my monitor shows that i'm updating CS & HL2 movies.. Let's find out in a minute :)

And what's all that crap with everything?!

=>

So there is a 400MB Cache > Is this bad? NO

The movie is indeed the same as seen on E3 > Is this bad? NO. Be patient, they said they WILL release other unseen movies.

Steam isn't stupid, it rocks. Be happy Valve worked on this great product, do you have ANY idea of what Steam will bring in the future? This IS the future!

And idd, it's displayed in Mbits, not bytes. 1Mbit is about 110 - 130 KB/sec.

YES, it is bad, who the hell said they can pump my hard drive full of bullshit I don't need? That really pisses me off, I would be OK with it if during instalation I would've been notified that 'in addition to the program, Steam also installs 400 MB of cache files', but did they do that? NO.

Whatever, for that pathetic 400MB.. It's just a tempfile

Yeah, temp while the damn program is installed.
Uninstall = problem solved.

BTW, 400 meg may not be a big deal for you, but if you got 10-15 gigs thats way too much space, especially considering people need to make room for porn ;)

The G-Man movie is not the one displayed at E3 !
Here we got a lot of "fade to black" - we didn't have in the others movies..

Yes well.. I used to have 6GB! Two weeks ago actually, SO SHARE MY PLEASURE WITH MY 60GB RIGHT NOW!! ;)

OMFG! HAHAHA LoneDeranger posted that screeshot of steam, right after I just installed it... I spent like 2 minutes clicking it and trying to figure out why nothing would work!!! AHAHA I fell like such an idiot!!! :x

-Phision is stupid and that's a fact.

Yes it is the one displayed at E3, but it has been edited because otherwise it'd be about 5 minutes long, with lots of gaps where Gabe was talking and it'd probably be about 500mb too.

It's clearly better than the one shown at E3.
