I just wanted to point out an interesting article for americans and canadians alike on CNN.com.

Near the end, it is mentioned that 'On the other hand, it's cold. The baseball's not very good'. I'd like to say that it might be cold during the winter, but it's always very warm during the summer and plus we never have any hurricanes/tropical storms or earthquakes. Furthermore, we might not have much professional baseball or basketball (toronto only) but we've got our own professional football league and hockey- kinda like football on ice. :)

Baseball is crap anyway so that doesn't really matter

I'll tell ya one thing about Canada, the beer sucks.
Well I don't know too much about American beer, but what I do know does not at all sound good.

American beer might as well be shandy. If you don't call it that in Nether Nether land, then just think...Beer + lemonade. (Ok, so their beer doesn't litterally have lemonade in it, but you get the point :))

Having said that...I like shandy, but I don't like beer.

I've wanted to visit Canada for so long, and I might get the chance since I know someone over there now :D

If you're worried about being cold, move to Vancouver, it never snows more than 20 centimeters (about 8 inches).

Be advised, we have a heavily diverse community the likes of Toronto, and a large gay community that somehow co-exists with the equally large religious community. Don't ask me how it works, 'cause the best explanation I can come up with is "We're Canadian." It feels right, but it's far from conclusive.

Basically, if you're not a libertarian you'll probably have a better time in Alberta, and it get's super-mega-ultra cold there. It's like Texas, except with reverse weather.

Which is more than we ever got from those freeloading Canadians...

...Canada sucks.

shadow6899: you're planning to move in 2 months? ummmmm it doesnt sound like you've applied for landed immigrant status ...do you just think because your american they'll automatically make you a citizen? It can take a couple of years to be allowed to emigrate to canada. We dont just let anyone in

Alberta is about as cold as any of the other mid provinces, like Sask or Manitoba, even Ontario's parts that align with the rest of the countries border, Quebec too for a good part. Alberta isn't that bad of a pronvince I don't think. While I don't live there, they have a lot of money...the fact that some scientists say they have more oil than the eastern world does means a lot, and they have a ton of other natural resources. They're completely free of any debt, and have no provincial sales tax.
