Whats the difference between mozilla, and mozilla firefox browser?

from what i understand "mozilla" has two main meanings: 1) mozilla is the name of the project to continue netscape development as open source. you could think of mozilla as the developer of the firefox browser, in the same way that MS is the developer of the IE browser. 2) it's also the name for the code that firefox is built on. netscape 6 and above were built on the mozilla code too, i think anyway.. but i'm likely misrepresenting the truth.
