MP3 player in game?

I see there's an mp3 command in the console, it brings up a directory and all for it but it doesn't exactly play anything while I'm hosting a server.
Is there any way I can stream music to friends in a private listen server or just in game on my machine?

i don't know about sending music to other players... but you could do what I do and run something like itunes in the background. I do it for css all the time without slowdown in visuals, with the rare exception.
