Stages: Hey, I can agree that the stages in Oni were bland (although not annoyingly so), but at least they don't rehash certain rooms over and over to the point where it becomes ridiculous.
Controlls: Argue all you want about the controlls, they worked fine as far as I'm concerned and you're probably the first person I've ever heard complaining about them and yes, I've known lots of blokes who've played it.
AI: They're called snipers, deal with them the same way back. Not that hard.
Music: What the hell are you on about here anyway? There's plenty of music in Oni, mabye not as much as some would like but at least there's plenty to go around. And what do you mean "only battle sequences"? This game is all about battle sequences. At least I find it better than most new games. On this subject I can agree that Halo has better music, but that's probably Halo's best feature anyway.
I didn't say Oni is bad game, I say I understand why someone would argue that some aspects of the game is badly designed, etc, but the game as a whole, I think stands out as a fine game. You can yak about nostalgic feelings all you want, I'm not saying I think Oni appeals to me simply for nostalgic reason, but one could argue that most games are appealing to people because it reminds them of previous experiences.
The reason I lost respect for Bungie is because they're getting undeserved attention. The Halo games are overrated and decent games at best. I could go on forever about how Microsoft milks this cow that is Halo, but that's for a different discussion. I like Oni better, and it may be because of the nostalgia, but honestly I don't know, but I would like to point out that I have been playing videogames many years before I played Oni so most of my nostalgia goes way beyond that game.
Final note: Not that I think it matters to you, because you're probably gonna go on about fanboyism, how most people are stupid, biased point spammers or whatever (mostly arguments and accusations that will probably lack proof), but the PC version of Oni (the one I played) had a pretty good user score on Metacritic. The reviewer score ain't bad either.
