Anyone see this David Lynch movie? You either hate it or love it, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Nothing is what it seems in this film, and you need to watch it several times in order to get the general idea that David Lynch is trying to put forth. Naomi Watts and Laura Elena Harring give great performances as two women trying to solve a mystery of identity and destiny in the city of angels. I'm still trying to find out the significance behind Lynch's Pandora's box. The plot is very detailed and merges together very slowly, so you must be patient and pay attention.

The movie has left with me so many unexplained answers; I guess thats what really attracts me to this movie, which allows the viewer to make up their own mind as to what the events, metaphors and dreams they see actually mean. I'm going to be picking up Blue Velvet and The Straight Story to see how his other work compares.

My rating: 9/10.

It`s one of my fave movies. The mood and ambience can`t be beaten. What did you think of Lost Highway?

lost highway is good ....would've been much better if he'd have been easier on the sex scenes...someones getting it on every minute...love the mood in any lynch piece, its very unique and many have tried to copy it but hes just mastered the art of throwing the audience any way he wants them...whenever he wants

the scene in mulholland that's my favourite is the diner...its just so VERY well directed and i don't think i've watched any other scene in any other film that had me on edge to that degree...the movement of the camera as the character is speaking is ever so subtle but just manages to keep you edged ....and the delivery is excellent

i think, even know its a very shallow (but amazingly good) area of film genre, that lynch could make the scariest horror film ever

edit: oh, his other work is amazing by the way....if you want something to truely test your patience, sanity and intelligence, give eraserhead a try. i think though, that mulholland drive is probably his strangest film yet...blue velvet is a very different universe to mulholland drive and is probably more straight forward in terms of narrative but deffinatley warped in the subject matter it deals with

sorry i could talk about lynch all day being as how i bum him

Yep, great stuff, incredibly confusing. David Lynch is a genius.

Haha...do I sense a bit of irony in that post?

Genius as in his directing ability and writing. Basically, he's a great director (one of my favorites).
