Yea just read on the info from vavle thread someone emailed eric about multiple gravity. What is multiple gravity? Is it like having different gravity values at different parts of a map?

Yea thats what i was thinkin. So what does that mean. Or maybe its just they are using it in a unique way since everything is physically simulated it would definetly make for some good puzzle or something.

It could also be a picked gravity for each player. Like WC3 mod for AMX_mod for Metamod, for Half-life/Counter-Strike(mainly)

You could pull off some great Matrix style running along walls with multiple gravity.

That might be good for when your in water. There's no way you can run as fast as you normally do in water.

that's true, but I would think running in water would have more to do with friction than gravity

Spiderman Mod, Spiderman Mod, does what every we think of cause, valves the sh*t, they so legit, Walk on walls, Spiderman Mod

You should know the tune to sing that by.

The best thing I've seen done with multiple (fixed) gravity was a while ago with multiplayer maps in Sin. There were 2 really good maps.

The first one had clear platforms that you can jump on and shoot through. There were "teleporters" that reversed your gravity so you could go on either side of the platforms.

The second was based on that picture with weird stairs going in and had it so there where 6 different gravity directions with teleporters going between them. Someone could attack you when their upside down or sideways.

Someone could probably make a map with Half-Life2 where the map looks like a regular place and then you flip the gravity and it looks like something else.

the weird stairs drawing is by escher. that would be teh coolest.

you know what would be cooler?

if someone could model one of those impossible M.C. Escher buildings for halflife 2.

The ones that have stairs that lead into each other with no clear one on top and no clear one at the bottom

It would be cool, but still impossible, something like that couldn't exist in a 3D space.

Serious Sam had multiple gravity. I remember a really freaky level that was like the Escher drawings with people walking on stairs on the ceiling and walls... except the people had guns.

Particle man, particle man...

So what happens if you jump near a wall with gravity? Will you fall to the side? :S

Yeah i'm just playing through serious sam 2, it has demented gravity style weird levels. You jump and fly around this curve land on the ceilings etc. Its really cool, especially when you do it while blowing away 100+ baddies!
