First things first steam and the game downloaded seemingly with no problems. As written previously though the game would not upload giving me the authentication disc time limit problem (never ever seen that before). I clicked on the re-install components on hl2 menu to start up game. This came up ' steam exe unable to locate components. This application has failed to start because MSVCR70.dll was not found. Reinstalling may fix the problem'.
Then had a debug failure warning come up. I decided to totally uninstall and reinstalled. Unfortunately the error 1334 warning came up and terminated installation. I then decided to download steam and updates which worked ok. Then have trtied to reinstall the game again but the same error 1334 has come up.
Whoever was responsible for this at vivendi, valve or steam I want them hung drawn and quartered. I have spent the entire day trying to get this running. Valve are basically sitting on their rears not doing anything. I want answers now.
It is certainly not my system or drives at fault. Rome Total war and doom3 have downloaded and played perfectly but this pile of dross has beaten my system into the ground. :angry: :angry: :angry: :angry: :angry:
