For those of you that don't know this is the voice of Chef on South Park.

I saw him perform a couple of years ago at the Durham Blues Festival. Rest in peace.

Oh, I have heard his old R&B songs before. Didn't know who sung them. Unmistakable voice. Never knew that the same guy who did Chef's voice was the same guy who sung Shaft.

It kind of sucks that most people only remember him as chef, when the guy was a fantastic R&B/Funk artist. So when it comes down to it you either remember him as Chef, or as that dude who made the Shaft Theme.

(Or as the Duke of New York, **** yeah)
 
Blues/jazz songwriter? My brother-in-law is a local favorite blues rock songwriter around here. I wonder if he knows this person's biography well?

I just now, today, learned he was the voice of Chef. I love his music!
