Muslims offended by Muhammad the teddy bear

Indeed, they should just send in some SAS to go get her. No better way to say "we think your religious laws are full of shit" than that. To do nothing out of culture relativism and let the court decide on "justice" is nuts. There is no justice to be had when there are no victims which means there is no crime. Besides, what is Sudan gonna do?

/Joke. Seriously though, 2 guys were discussing this the other night in the suana, I agreed with them and aired the view that it was horrific. They seemed very happy that I agreed with them and assumed it was safe to let loose a torrent of racist bile and think I would agree with it.

What gets me isn't so much the calls, more where it's coming from. I could understand a few radical types baying for blood (that's inevitable..the West is the root of all evil after all..), but when it's the Countries top priests you really have to wonder what's going on. One thing for sure, if the woman gets the lashes, if I was Sudanese I'd get on the next plane out of the UK fast before I get repatriated via Beachy Head.

?The judge found Gillian Gibbons guilty and sentenced her to 15 days jail and deportation,? said Ali Mohammed Hajab, a member of her defense team.

The director of the school employing Gibbons, however, noted that since she had already spent five days in prison, she would serve only 10 days.

?It?s a very fair verdict[They actually believe this, don't they? *sigh*], she could have had six months and lashes and a fine, and she only got 15 days and deportation,? said Robert Boulos of the Unity High School, adding they would not appeal the decision.

I read that headline and I thought "Finally, people in that country do have some common sense, jailing a woman for something as ridiculous as naming a teddy bear muhammad deserves to be protested"...then I read further. Thousands turned up in favour of a tougher punishment, holy crap. No wonder Sudan is in the state it is in with so many idiots both running and living in that country. Some were even saying she should be shot. Oh well, screw Muhammad, screw Allah, screw the protestors but most of all screw Islam.

On the radio yesterday they were talking about how this woman wants to appeal her extradition, she actually wants to stay in the country. How ****ing stupid can you be? Nobody wants her there, just leave the ****ing country and be happy they didn't do something worse to you.

Well, as far as what has happened to her, no harm no foul. This is hardly a punishment.

BUT, the people there to demonstrate against her convicion saying that she should be shot, etc. don't seem to have a grasp on the situation or reality, ftm. I heard and read comments from those people and they still think that she named that stupid bear. Note to the Sundanese: YOUR OWN PEOPLE NAMED IT....YOUR OWN MUSLIM CHILDREN NAMED THAT BEAR. YOUR KIDS VIOLATED YOUR RELIGIOUS LAW....ARE YOU GONNA SHOOT THEM???? Well, this is Sudan, so who could put that by them. Good game, Sudan...

No doubt this woman is there to provide aid to this country by teaching. You figure you'd treat someone like that with a little more respect and gratitude...but, nonetheless, a typical response. One little slip up, which, mind you, wasn't even her slip up, and they want your head. Christ, I wasn't even all that worked up about this, but that demonstration is just insanity in the flesh and all things considered, disgusting.

I swear this world is going to be consumed by madness...and probably soon.

I agree with you, but the thing is, she shouldn't actually have to leave at all. She didn't do anything. No-one would care here if you named a teddy bear Jesus. Sudan is in the wrong. Its that black and white.

Deportation is a huge favor to her. She might be in danger staying there.

I noticed she apologised as well. Although she was probably advised to do so, I personally would have told them to ram it right up their backsides and returned home.
