So, inspired by a music video special on the music channel just now, and my wanting to expand my music collection, here comes another much-needed variation on the old favourite songs/albums post! ^_^

Uhh yeah, basically just post one album from your collection that you'd consider a "must-have", a classic (doesn't mean it has to be old) that you'd recommend to just about anyone. I'll get the ball rolling...

The Beatles - Abbey Road

First album I came across in my playlist that screamed out classic :)

Queen - Greatest Hits.

Even I have it, and I'm not even fond of Queen.

At the Drive-In - Relationship of Command

Not my favourite At the Drive-In album, but one that anyone with some sort of liking for post-hardcore or the like should have. Probably the easiest At the Drive-In album to get into aswell, so yeah.

If I do add more albums, they will be albums I myself think are classic, and that won't be stuff like Led Zeppelin or Black Sabbath and any other bands that all the magazines consider 'the best albumz evvaaarr' because of what they have done for music. Dull music = NO.

Architecture in Helsinki - In Case We Die

The Strokes - Is This It

The Verve, Urban Hymns
I have Queen's greatest hits too :D

Metallica - 'Black Album'
Guns n Roses - Apettite for Destruction
RHCP - Californiacation

The Verve, Urban Hymns

If I could only settle with one album for the rest of my life, it would be Urban Hymns. :D

To be honest, The White Album by The Beatles is a certainty. Almost every genre of music in one album.

Well I would recommend:

Pink Floyd - The Wall & Dark side of the Moon
Metallica - The Black Album
Iron Maiden - Fear of the dark
Black Sabbath - Born Again

I love this album in a purely heterosexual way.

Dude... you just called sabbath and zeppelin dull... :|

Yep, it appears so. Not a fan of boring music to be honest.

Good call for whoever said RATM's s/t. I never know what I prefer out of that or The Battle for L.A., though.

Primus - Sailing the Seas of Cheese is probably the ultimate bass guitarists album, aswell as being straight-up, kick ass original fun.

:x :x

Tell me... are you saying that to be ''cool'' with the emos, or have you actually listened to any of their stuff, enough to pass judgement, and decided that it's not for you.

sabbath and zeppelin are @#'!ing GODS of the music world, calling them boring is, to me anyway, insane D:

I wasn't aware it was 'cool' to dislike dull bands, it's moreso my own opinion, y'know? Yes, I have listened to both bands, having also seen Sabbath aswell, who were cringeworthy aswell as boring. I've been subjected to the mediocrocity (sp?) of Led Zeppelins albums a number of times as my mate is a big fan. It just doesn't do anything for me. Rock and the like in general doesn't. If anything, the early doom/stoner-esqe Sabbath was okay, but I'll stick with better bands like Cathedral and Kyuss for that, thanks.

They may have influenced bands now, and done wonders for the industry, but thats no reason for me to like them. Kudos to 'em an all, but other than that, I find it dull stuff. You'll probably think bands I like are dull and boring. Welcome to opinions.

The Velvet Underground- Velvet Underground/Nico
Sonic Youth- Daydream Nation

I like your taste :) But I prefer Siamese Dream over Adore when it comes to the Pumpkins.

I forgot said:
Soundgarden - Superunknown

Black Hooole Sun, won't you come...

Yeah, good album that.

Daydream nation-The Sonic Youth
Loveless-My Bloody Valentine
The velvet Underground and nico-The velvet Underground and nico

If anything, the "emos" like Sabbath and Zeppelin. I see kids all the time with Sabbath and Zeppelin t-shirts and the only songs they know Iron Man and Stairway to Heaven.

That's incredibly true. Ironically enough, I'm wearing a Pink Floyd shirt :p.

But I got Great Piper at the Gates of Dawn and Animals, so...suck it.

Pink Floyd - The Wall (the film too)
Pink Floyd - The Dark Side of the Moon
Radiohead - OK Computer
Radiohead - Hail to the Thief
Muse - Black Holes and Revelations
REM - Automatic for the People

It's because they have started selling shirts by them and others like AC/DC, Stones and Motorhead in all those girly fashion stores now. It's quite disapointing that it has become a fashion to have a Motorhead shirt because it's ''in'' now.

My town is full of nobhead posers. And unfortunatly, I'm going into town later, and I always feel really embarrased walking past these mass of clone-kids as any common person looking would think I'd be associating with them. (it's the long hair around here that immeidietly puts you into a damn category/label)

Blondie - Parallel Lines
The Clash - Combat Rock (better than London Calling IMO)
Miles Davis - Kind Of Blue
Jeffrey Lewis - City and Eastern Songs
Kings Of Convenience - Quiet Is The New Loud
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Fever To Tell
Weezer's eponymous debut album
Richard X - Presents His X-Factor
Lou Reed - Transformer

I was considering mentioning pretty much every single one of those :p

Also, Primus - Frizzle Fry. Someone mentioned Seas of Cheese, and reminded me I really have to check out more of their back catalog. Freakin <3 Frizzle Fry though.

It's pudding taaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiime!
