My 1.6 hates custom maps now :(

I don't know why and i don't know how, but since i reformatted a week or two ago i cannot play on any 1.6 server that is playing a custom map, it goes to join, gets to verifying resources and then just crashes to desktop, i've tried putting in the maps manually but it still does it, i've tried deleting both my Game Cache file and Client registry etc etc... nothing is working, and this is a pain in the ass seeing as me and my clan wanna get to work on some of the CPL maps

Any ideas lads ?

You tried reinstalling?
And try validating: steam://validate/10

I'll try validating now and yeah i've tried reinstalling cs, did it a while back but did nothing
So i'll go see if validating does the trick

:: Just tried validating and then joining a server with de_cpl_mill and it just crashed back to desktop again .. i really don't understand what is wrong, it was fine before i reformatted ::
