£1000? I put together a very similar one for mrbadger a short while ago, that was like £350... Though without harddrive and DVD player, and of course the case.

he said retail so i presumed what with the add on charges companies make us pay, but i agree now mayb i was a bit over the mark

Well, it is *kind* of retail, I'm sure you can specify the parts and get a prebuilt computer sent home at certain websites. No one buys true retail unless they are completely wacked, that's just moronic, twice the price at least, and absolutely no pro in the deal.

im buying all the parts off newegg and it comes to about 600 dollars how the hell did you build something like this for 300

I am either going to get the 9600 pro or the 9600 XT, but its conflicting, i want to play max payne 2 but the card doesnt come out till november :-/
Should i just go for the 9600 pro?

no... wait untill 9600Pro gets out... then the prices will drop and if your lucky you might be able to afford an 9800Pro... but its you choice

:dozey: Owksie owskie owskie...

Bump it next time.

I would also wait for the 9600XT, and see if you can afford the 9800.
