I know I've made alot of threads, sorry for that by the way. This should be my final creation for a bit...maybe.
My problem is...Is it worth it to stick with my problematic vehicle?
For those who don't know, I bought a broke ass 1988 Mazda RX-7 from a guy for $900. It's got A LOT of problems. It takes alot of money and time to get those things working again, because there's FEW people who work on Rotories around here...even fewer that know what they are doing. There's history, now the fun.
I'm at a standstill. I'm going from, "I'm going to get a new car." to, "I can fix this up..it will help me become more rounded."
Now a little story. I am in a rut in my life. I'm just about 21 years old, still working at a fast food joint for $7.25 an hour. There is room for advancement here, but I don't think I want to, since the boss of my manager doesn't like me, so he'll try to cut me down every inch of the way. I want to do something with my life, don't have any idea what. I'm NO good at cars at all, I couldn't tell you what a, "Block" is if my life depended on it...*is it where the engine sits?* I havn't gone to college yet, I would like to if I could figure out what I want to do. If I went through with this, maybe I would get the motivation to hit College finally.
Now...I have a chance. There is a car on Ebay for pretty cheap *under $500 still, 20 hours left* and he says the engine has 1 rotor with good compression, while the other is bad. That's all I've gotten from him so far, and I'd like to buy that car for parts..if the tranny is in good shape, use that in my car since mines about to die. That's a 14 hour drive to the place to pick up the car though. That's alot of money to put into this idea if I'm not going to follow through with it.
Sometimes I feel like if I do go through with it, I will hopefully find out more about myself, and BEGIN to figure out what I want to do in my life..the other part says it's a waste of time for me, since I'm a failure *emo emo emo* and I just need to stick with what I do best, video games..ugh.
To top it off, I have a new problem that arose with my car. When I'm accelerating, I hear this awesome rattling sound from under my car...doesn't sound like it's comming from the engine. So I assume that's my Tranny saying, "Haha, you're going to be stranded soon!" I don't have any other form of transportation.
If I decide to work on my car, I have a friend of a friend who worked on his Turbo 2 white RX-7 Second Gen for a awhile, and it looks AWESOME and it's great. I could use his and his fathers auto shop to work on my car probably...so I have some help, and it will get done..just take some work. I'm bad at getting motivated, that's my main problem in life..I'm lazy.
Ok well, to end this entire STORY off, I was just throwing out my idea..and then sending in my problem while I am at it...just for kicks.
Thanks.
