My Doom Virus -Kills SCO, Microsoft Next-

For the last past couple of weeks, hammering all the news site, a SEVERE virus has just attacked the web. Crowned, WORST Virus EVER!!! There are two versions of the virus. Virus "A" will began attacking SCO on February 1st, and Virus "B" is schedueled to attack Microsoft on February 1st. 1 out of every 12 email accounts are already infected. (My Brother Got it, Luckily He Was In Linux) the virus's source code is encrypted so that Anti Virus software CAN NOT BLOCK IT. also that the virus can change form. This virus attack ALL files and automatically goes through your email and mails intself out to your contacts. This thing is global and is also on the front page of Microsoft. The virus originated in Russia. The virus is even programmed not to attack Government related sites. This virus is supposely the worst and most advance virus ever created.

UPDATE:

As you may already know, SCO's website was attacked by the (Scheduled) My Doom A virus, forcing the website to shutdown. So far it's STILL down. Supposely tommarow (February 3rd) Microsoft's website will be attacked by My Doom B. If this happends, it is said that even Hotmail and MSN (Messenger, ETC) will be shut down. This kind of sucks if MSN and Hotmail dies. Speak your mind, what do you think about all of this?
 
Doesn't need a virus to knock out hotmail.. if someone sends an attachment bigger than a few K that seems to be enough to send their system into a panic ;)
 
hmmm now that u mentioned that, my msn isn't working right now... haha what the hell, i wonder...

There's nothing wrong with hating Microsoft and still using Windows as long as there are great games or applications you need that only run on Windows. I'm using a legally purchased copy of Windows 2000 Professional right now... and I hope Linux takes over. Right now, I would have to dual boot Linux and Windows to do everything I can already do with just Windows (but I do it anyway).

I hope IBM's ads get more mainstream support for Linux. Linux needs a sizeable market share to be profitable for companies to develop software for it... but the Catch-22 is that it needs good software to get a sizeable market share. It will take support from major players in the PC industry to get it moving... and that support will be costly at first.
 
I'm too lazy to use an OS that requires compiling.

Plug and play all teh way.
 
if i knew more about linux i'd probably switch over to it, but i really have no idea how to use it. I hear its not user friendly sometimes and so i'd probably get lost. I'm used to windows unfortunately, but still hate microsoft.
 
If my computer works I'm happy. I could care less about the company thats making it work or how much money they make. Doesn't bother me a bit and thats why I don't care at all.

They make versions of Linux that new users can easily install. In fact when you first install Linux, it automatically detects your internet settings and you can use the internet without you having to set anything up.

i know of some people that reset there clocks so the virus would start early. :)

Anyway sco sucks and so does bill goates.

I don't get why you people hate Microsoft. Would someone please elaborate for the unknowing ones?
 
Generally it's that they don't care about any laws, fines or other smaller developers like opera.

Microsoft doesnt let any of the smaller companies that make good software that competes with windows or internet explorer alone. Microsoft is like the mafia. They lie cheat and steal to get there way.
 
Who did he steal off? Ive always found microsoft software excellent quality to be honest.
 
Well, there would be no Microsoft now if he hadn't stolen his idea for Windows from Apple... and that was just the first of many times they screwed over another company to get to the top.
 
Every time KDE or Gnome get a new feature the next release of windows gets it too(unless it's the kind of feature that would confuse your usual dumbass user).

However windows longhorn will have a 3d interface which will be unique to windows I think, quite exiteing really...

I don't like M$ software (except DX and windows when it works) but the real monster here is SCO, if those ****ers had there way open source free software would no longer be possible. I hope they all die slow then burn in hell.
 
Okay, For all of you Windows lovers.

If you where on linux you could play games 5x faster but with less specs. You wouldn't need all that ram or all that processing power. You wouldnt need to Alt cntl del because your computer froze because linux doesnt freeze. It may not be tottaly user friendly but people can mod it. Its so much better and this is comming from a life time windows jockey.
 
Just dont click on links in your email? I use about 4 hotmail/lycos etc accounts and have yet to get any virus. Just use common sense ;)

As much as I dislike MS, saying games would run 5 times faster is a serious overstatement. You'd be lucky if they ran two times faster.
 
Thats a good point Linux has never froze on me but windows locked up 3 times last week, Linux is no good for games though, I just can't be arsed to get my AGP bus to work properly. Some games run really fast on Linux but with the rest it's like I'm useing a software renderer.
 
I'm not really a windows lover... It's more like you're a windows hater, but what the hell. Facts are that I'll continue to use windows simply because I'm no computer mastermind... As far as I can see it, windows is the best all-around OS...
 
Youe know, I like Linux myself.
But I'm always hearing people telling me how well it supposedly performs, even on low end machines. Well, RedHat 8.0 is the version I use, and no matter what system I run it on, my performance is slooowwwww. It took my two minutes to open a simple text editing program! The boot sequence takes forever to finish as well. Windows gives me great performance, so I tend to use it more often. If Linux performed just a bit faster, I'd use it all the time (save for gaming).
 
qckbeam: use the gentoo distro and compile a custom kernel with the premptive thing switched on, i have mandrake and it takes some time to load up programs compared to windows but it compiles programs in 1/4 of the time it takes on windows, also programs tend to be more responsive once they are opened.

Apparantly Gentoo is twice as fast as mandrake so that makes it faster than windows... alot faster.
 
My Internet Explorer is ****ed, I can't open the damn thing, so I'm using my RealPlayer as a browser...

go on google, and look for opera, then when you find it, download it. its a good internet browser :)

People dislike Microsoft because they run a very strict monopoly. Windows leaves computer manufacturers nearly no alternative to Microsoft products. If it uses windows it has to use IE , Word, Office , Paint ect. Its not good to have nocompetition.
 
if you guys just took the time to use linux it wouldent be very daunting at all. its a lot more intuitive that windows in many ways.
