my problem is that sometimes when I post a new thread in others forums the only replys I got are "OMG is the PHARAGRAPH monster!!" "wow you are 3 years old or what!!!???"

so I just want to know how bad in english I are

that happens especcialy when I make long post
also that happens only in the gamespot forums that are the most fanboys-trolls-spammers filled forums ever

so my english is so bad?

if the moderators consider this spam they are free to delete it

Your english isn't bad, but it is obvious that it isn't your first language. In fact, I tihnk your english is good, but its very plain. You don't use as many descriptive words really. Sometimes you also makes mistakes like

so I just want to know how bad in english I are

What you could have said is

"So i just want to know how bad is my english"

Basically, you said "are" instead of "am"

I can perfectly understand what you say, and in fact your english is a lot better than it was when you joined.

You don't write like a 3 year old at all, because its obvious when you say things that you have intelligence, you just don't know the language like a native.

If english is not your native language then any mistakes made are most definately understood. People get upset at native english speakers making mistakes because, well, they are native speakers and should be a bit more adept with their own language. I have plenty of non-englishspeaking friends who assure me that english is very easy to pick up, but hard as hell to get perfect, what with all the nuances and irregularities.

You're english is easily understandable, and that's what counts. If anybody gives you flack about it, remind them that it's not your first language.

What gets me mad is people who only speak english, and speak/type it poorly. Damn shame that.

edit:

"So i just want to know how bad my english is"
:p

If I were new to this forum I could tell that English isn't your first language by looking at a fair few of your posts.

But, from when you first came on here, you have made a really, really huge improvement. I was thinking this the other day, how much you've progressed, it's great!

Gramatically, you may not be the best in the world, but I can still understand what you are trying to say. It just sometimes takes a couple more times to read some of your posts. Not all the time though.

I can relate to your issues though, all of my roomates speak fluent Spanish, and only a little English. I only speak a little Spanish...Not enough to talk or understand them in their 1st language....One guy is taking classes, so I try to help him learn as best as I can.

I think your english is manageable :)

I suggest you put something in your signature you people don't go all trollish on you. :D

Your english is perfectly understandable, If people whine and cry they are morons. No need to bother with them.

If those little kids say your english sucks then just tell them that English is not your 1st language...

Your english has greatly improved from when you first started posting. I always understand what you're saying. Don't fret.

One thing I have noticed in your english, though, is that since youre used to use "hay" for there is or there are as one word, you'll sometimes (in english) not inclued the "there", and just put are or is.

But your english is good for it not being your first language. 100000x better than my spanish.

Might be a good idea. People usually understand when you explain that english is not your first language.

Your English is perfectly understandable, it's just not always grammatically correct. You have come very, very far from your first posts though. You should be proud of yourself and the progress you've made :)

I havn't had any problems understanding your english. I know it must be hard sometimes, but atleast you make the effort to speak a second language. I know its hard, I studied spanish in middle and high school and I am still terrible at it.

I understand you RJMC. I have been learning english since 2 years now. It's sometimes hard for me to reply and I have to think a long time before I even begin to write. I'm with you mate.

A mi me gusta el pollo. Bueno suerte amigo :D

i joined around the same time you did, and i'm with the majority here, you've seriously improved man.

I pity you for having to learn English on gaming forums. Words like fanboy and troll should not be added to an infant vocabulary! It's like teaching Snoop(izzle) language in the 1st grade.

i can imagine how hard it is, can you imagine having to have to speak spanish on a forum, i would be hopeless.

btw is your location meant to be spelt souht america.?

its south :D , unless you meant to spell it that way or something, hehe

If people flame you here for the way you speak English, simply report their posts and we'll deal with them - it won't be tolerated here. But, do be aware of the difference between flaming and constructive criticism.

As i said before. Your english has improved much since you first joined. And english is not my first language either so i guess i make mistakes too. But i dont notice them.. :)

english not being my native language is the main reason for so few posts that I've written to date (being here for over a year now). sometimes I just don't have the proper vocabulary to express myself ;(

but what I've noticed is that posting on this forum and reading all of you guys' posts improved my written english (well at least I hope so:p)

I understand You very well <RJMC>, and I must say that those kids that flame You for your english are just not worth Your nerves and Your time. it's their problem, because as You can see everyone here understans You perfectly.

<RJMC>, your english is very good. I don't have any trouble understanding you :) So much better than my french... You've definately improved, don't let the people whe flame get to you.

I think your english is better than the majority of people who join here ^_^.

<rjmc> ur english is pretty good if u want to improve ur grammar ...diction ...vocabulary etc.. i sugest picking up some books on the theory behind linguistic technicques and just novels that people have written ...
and then analyse the linguistic techniques symbolisms etc that authors have used ...
it helps quite a bit to understand why certain words are used ......rather than just mugging it up .

Yes, I think your English is as good as my girlfriend's, don't know about spoken though.

The main problem I find with non-fluent English speakers is grammar. Vocabulary is usually pretty good, it's just the odd mistake like "You is" rather than "You are"

And you could try to join a forum for people learning to speak english. As long as they have fluent English people their too.

Try paying attention to how regular forums users type, notice the difference between how you type and how they type.

Don't worry, you'll pick up how to speak good English soon enough!

How old are you? Do you live in an English-speaking country? If so, how long have you lived there? If not, how long have you been taking lessons for? You should be able to speak pretty good (unnoticable as your 2nd language) English within 2 years of living in an English-speaking nation and talking with people around you. To improve your English: read, watch TV, talk with English-speaking people, and post here.

Your english is all right, try and chat more with people on IRC and the likes and you'll become magically better by the minute :)

I have absolutly no problem reading anything you post. people who post foolish stuff like OMG you're like 3 years old are just to be ignored.
English isn't my native (first) language either but being on forums, playing games, watching (untranslated, only subbed) tv improved my english very much.
so don't worry about a thing

my early posts sucked too, but I was already instructed in English, so it came kind of naturally.

I understand that there (in Venezuela, like in Brazil) movies are generally dubbed, not subtitled. I'd advise you to get some subtitled movies and watch them, they dramatically increase your knowledge of the language and how to use vocabulary.

Don't you dub movies in Portugal?

yeah like axyon said, just report the bastards. It doesnt matter really, I didnt notice it at all until you brought it up... probably because im so bad myself :D

Hell I should teach you some southernese boy. :D

Anyways...your english is pretty good.I can understand ya and so can many other people. So don't worry. :)

Hey RJMC man, you know you've got a fellow Venezuelan with you right here!

Best way to learn english well is to practice it as much as you can. My skills in English have grown quite considerably ever since I had to move to the U.S, reading and posting in forums like these definitely helps as well.

If anyone gives you trouble just send me PM and I'll rip them a new one in both English AND Spanish :)

Los Venezolanos siempre seremos compañeros en el extranjero :p
